Elliott looked at Laura and felt that this was not a good time to discuss things.
"There are outsiders here today. I know you are feeling a bit uncomfortable. Let's talk privately when we have the chance."
He turned and opened the door to leave.
"There are…outsiders… here…"
Steve leaned against the table and said this in a strange tone.
Laura looked up at Steve and said, "If you want to get sick, go out."
"No. I finally can have a quiet time with you."
Steve lay on the sofa but stood up again in less than a minute.
"I'll have someone come clean the sofa. It's all smelling of alcohol, really stinky."
Laura felt amused. Over the years of getting along, Laura knew Steve was not a person who didn’t drink. Sometimes, to socialize, Steve would also turn into a drinker like Elliott.
