Get rid of it.
Those words rang through her head as she calmly stood, her posture carelessly perfect. She stared out at the impossible green of the forest, a beautiful synonym to her eyes behind the glass of her home. Her long silk-red robe was parted to give the forest a peek of her tall, lithe body in a black top and bottom lingerie. She didn't care, not because she was afraid anyone passing by the forest might see, but simply that: she didn't care. She wasn't human enough anymore.
Emotionless. Stoic. Perfect.
Green orbs disappeared behind long-lashed lids and air was softly released through lush lips.
It. That's what I am.
________
"The Council has deemed you guilty."
Those words have been echoing in her head for the past few sunsets.
"You are to serve in the human realm for 30 days, as redemption for your crime."
She's an Archangel. Humans were meant to worship her. Bow before her. She used them for pleasure, but this time it went too far.
"Your Honor, Archangel Adiona coerced a human male to have intercourse with her, and took his life afterwards. This is in violation of not one but two laws of the Haven."
"He murdered his family. And he had the audacity to lie to me about it." Adiona was calm. "I had my suspicions, so I touched his mind. The s*x was a bonus."
Adiona almost scoffed when she remembered the response of the Council. They told her it didn't matter. That controlling a mind to do your bidding was against the law, and so was taking the life of a human. The human life was for God to take alone, and they never meddled with His favorite creation.
Adiona traced the still water surrounding her beautiful home with a delicate finger as she spoke.
"Contact Tom Rodriguez. Schedule an appointment. I'll have to comply to the Council's demands."
A beautiful woman with the darkest hair and bluest eyes dressed in a simple white silk top and pants bowed slightly. "Yes, milday." She hesitated, speaking in a voice that has been adoring her mistress for as long as she had been alive. "If you resist too much, they could get suspicious."
"Indeed," Adiona didn't even flinch when a sharp teeth dug into her finger in the water. Her piranhas were getting hungry. "Then I'd have to kill more." She pulled her bleeding finger out and placed it in her mouth, tasting the cool, metallic taste of her own blood. Her closest confidante didn't bother to grab a towel. They both knew it would heal in seconds.
"And we wouldn't want more blood in our hands."
