Digging her phone out of her pocket, she pressed the icon she'd pre-set on the screen and tossed the phone on the seat beside her. “Margaret!” In the back, Valéry jerked his head away from his preening in the mirror and flashed her a surprised smile. “What are you doing here?” Maggie turned in her seat. “If I were you, Valerie, I'd buckle up.” She wrestled the gearshift into drive, sat back, and pressed hard on the gas pedal.
