Trial And Temptation "Mother …!!!" Amaka yelled for her who was being dragged away by an invisible mist she couldn't see, feeling lonely and tired from all her screaming she decided to keep going with the thought that they are all dead shouldering all the blame on herself with lamentation as she staggers away …suddenly the forest became restless. The mist kept dragging uchenna deep down the forest until it came across a river and then stopped, uchenna by this time already lost consciousness the mist left her by the pool of the river bank . After a while of trekking, singing and wailing Amaka starts hearing a loud wail. "This was to distract me right but you people failed!! "The cry became more vervant that she was pushed to go look for its owner. " What do you want from me ?? "Ada asks no one in particular. " I know you can hear me … speak to me !!!" She shouted and set her arrow looking around. "Stop being a coward and show yourself !!" Just then an old woman appeared before her. " Come to me, my child!" The old woman called on the startled Ada. Amaka kept tracking the voice, the louder the voice got perhaps it's one of the beasts of the forest at the thought of this a young girl about her age appeared two miles away from wailing with a bloody wound. "Don't play games with me !" Ada replies running out of patience…but the old woman insists on following her for a plate of food to feed on as she moves closer Ada shifts back. "I don't have time for your childish games!!" Ada snaps seeing she can no longer move. "That's not a very good way to talk to an elder" the old woman corrected hurted by her words taking advantage of Ada walking up to her. "When the elders fail it's their responsibility … they become a fool … when the king fails in his responsibility he is termed a coward, a failure but what happens when the protector remains silent !!! " Ada yells out of anger sitting down which surprises the old woman. " If your answer suits me … I'll follow you." She says calming her nerves. "None questions the gods … none tells them what to do and what to do" the old woman replies. Amaka finds courage to walk up to the girl kneeling before her, cleaning her wound without saying a word the girl stands to go. "Where are you going?" She gets no response "Who are you??" Though she already knew what the answer was. "At least show the way?!" She asked as the girl turned around and pointed the road to her before returning her gaze back the girl was gone, embarking on her journey silently praying that could lead her out of the forest. " If no one will challenge the gods then I'll…! Because they have failed to protect those who served them wholeheartedly!!"Ada says, frustrated by her ignorance. " You've bitten more than you can chew… " The woman said to Ada who doesn't seem to care much about what threat as she continues with her words. "I know who you are so you don't have to transform," she says, drawing on the floor without looking up. "My love , don't you miss me… have being waiting all days and years for you, thought you were never gonna come for me"A young good looking man says with years in his eyes that Ada almost starts to believe her, trying to hold her just then her bow shines brightly upon seeing this the woman disappear but the young man kept ranting on how he had waited for her come save him from the hands of the gods of the forest, believing him she started following him just as she made to touch her she heard a voice. "My daughter don't be fooled" just then the young man started arguing with the voice after a while of incantation from the voice the guy turned into a half skeleton, she steps back. "Thank you for saving my life but who are you?!" Ada appreciates and questions the invisible voice owner who claimed to be no one in particular, she pleads that the voice shows her the way out of this. "Follow your mind" was the most confusing answer she ever got. Amaka keeps running and failing in hope to reach her destination following the spirit girl description, just then she sees a young man roaming about the voice looking lost in the forest just like her… all questions she was asking were neglected by the young man who keeps avoiding her moves. "Are you here to kill me!!" With this the young man looks around to face only to notice he has one eye over his forehead, one on his chest and the other on his jaw,Amaka screams out Ada heard the voice she decided to trace it. "Do you want…have … me killed??" Amaka asked, trembling from head to toe. "I would have killed you if I wanted to since you saved my mother's life I won't kill you! "The man was confused by this and she asked the man who his mother was. " The girl you helped" he replied looking at him this time around the eyes had gone back into the socket. "She is no girl" he snaps, she nods in understanding as the man offers to give her something to eat of which rejected. "No thanks …I might appear hungry physically but am not as my heart is heavy and the sorrow in it is bigger than the wage of the flesh nor that of the forest."she answered but the guy insisted on feeding her,as she was about to follow him a voice whisper to her. "Insteading of feeding my flesh only, why not feed my soul so that my body may nourish and appreciate your effort in repaying me!" She says he smirks asking her what she meant by that. "Set me free… I know the forest is bound by spell … tell me what to do! "She answered, the man demanded the half knife and braclet with her.
