Trial And Temptation.
"My life and knife are same… on this knife lies so many lives of those who die protecting the kingdom and now lies mine who lives to correct the past mistakes" she says sorrowful with this he turns to go but Amaka starts to sing.
"Oh… spirit of my father why have forsaken me
My ancestors chose to be silent …look upon me in your merciful eye and have compassion on me!
Oh spirit of the forest let my agony reach you!
Lemme lamentation touch you oh gods of my father's
Oh god and goddess of the sea, air, water, fire and land let my agony reach you…save me from this agony and unending suffering!!
She sang her heart out as tears begins to drop from her eyes displaying the emotion she put in the song touched the forest spirit and that of the guy as everywhere became calm handing over white egg and kolanut instructing her on what to do with it, he leaves her to continue her journey she came in contact with her sister Ada,they both scream start running after a while of running here and there they got tired and sat on floor panting heavily like one who had a ran maroto race.
"You are supposed to be dead ?" Ada said
"No you are the dead one here " Amake said as they both started arguing before finally coming to a conclusion to pour sand on each other afterward Ada asks after their mother but Amaka decides to ignore the question as Ada cries.
"Don't cry …tears are meant for the weak!" Amaka says, trying to calm her down as she dries her tears.
" No you are wrong … people cry because they have stayed strong for too long but today I Adaeze will no longer have a cause to cry again!" Having said this she stands up and holds her hands.
" Today marks the 14th day of our journey, 11th day since we departed and today we shall be free from the hands of her captive!! "Amaka declares as Ada nods her head as they start to run back to the three dimension, the exact place they had departed back then,Amaka shouts in jubilation as the confused Ada joins in singing and dancing.
Few minutes after the jubilation Ada asks what it was about but Amaka told her to hold on and she needs to confirm something.
"Are you scared of starting from square one?" Amaka asks you, Ada sign not knowing the right thing to say Amaka encouraged her not to be scared of defeat neither of starting over rather she should always take courage as they recite their warrior motto as Amaka tells her the secret weapon she has, holding hands immediately after breaking the kola nut offering to the gods and goddess of the land the forest opened wide shaking the land as it forcefully open the two sibling run as fast as their legs could carry them until they arrive outside the tip of the forest the egg fell off from her pocket Ada looks back to show Amaka what she had seen just as the forest close before them.
They decided to rest before continuing their journey. Soon enough they encountered some girl round their neatly dressed. "Sister, they look like us!" Ada screams in excitement pointing at the approaching girls.
"Why are you putting on tatted cloth?" Ask one of the girls Amaka and Ada to exchange glances before checking out their manner of dress before looking at their own.
"Why are you smelling like s**t?!" The other asks, covering their nose, Amaka quickly talks.
"We have come a long way and we are hungry and tasty" Amaka says as Ada stares at the girls full of admiration.
"Where are you from?"One of the girls was admiring them.
"From a very far away kingdom!" Ada answered that the girls agreed with them, asking the two sisters to follow them as they introduced themselves.
"Oh sorry we forgot about that … I'm Amanda the daughter of Onuwu, here at my left is Amara the king's brother child the other is the daughter of of the head of guards we are known as Nikiru we are known three beauty" the girl at the middle replied enchanted by their friendly act Ada asked the uses of the water pot they are carrying Nikiru explains the function of it.
"Why would you fetch water to wash cloth when you can wash and bathe inside the river?" Amaka is amazed by what the girls were saying the two sisters follow silently looking and admiring everything they see on their way.
"Why do you girls act insane ?" Amara, angered by this Amaka stops questioning her reason.
" Did she mean we are mad or what?"Ada asks whispering into Amaka's ear trying to be sure before she speaks, Amanda tries to change the topic by asking for their names.
"It's of no use asking for our names!" Ada answered in annoyance.
"What do you mean?" Nikiru ask, feeling disappointed by Amara's nonchalant attitude.
"My mamma used to say mad people have no sense of the past so we do not have names" Amaka replied as they turned around to go back taking the wrong direction.
"Don't go that way … it's leads to Umudike while the other leads to Obiora!" by the mention of Obiora the bow and arrow in her bag shines brightly piecing the bag at which Ada had packages it the girls screamed throwing away their water pot while Amaka steps back, each of the girls ask what just happened Amara tried to go touch the bow standing she was thrown many miles away the other girls took to their heel to the palace, on getting there they were stopped by the palace guard being questioned but they refused to answer unless they see the king.
The king who was busy discussing with the elders suspended his meeting to communicate with the guards who were panicking and calming them down. He ordered the maid to bring water for them, and they explained what they had witnessed.
"Finally the prophecy has come to pass… gather four able guards, Onuwu and echie Oruza should follow me while the other two guard should go and get the Okra omu okra mabu the high chief priest here, let's go" with this the king left in company of the guards and the elders he had mentioned, on their way Amara lay on unconscious while Ada was panting as she tries to pull the arrow down in support of Amaka seems the bow increase, Amaka had to bend so Ada could climb on her to get the bow and arrow after much attempt she finally gets it by now the king had reached there observing them as they both pet each other.
Upon seeing the king they just stare at him as the Onuwu scold their lack of manners… the two sisters mock his sentence as the guards burst into laughter, the king orders the guards to take Amara to the royal physician.
"Who is a physician ?" Amaka asked, paying attention as the king explained, so Ada begged the king to allow the physician to take care of Amaka, her sister.
