Alpha Alexandro (POV)
The room fell silent when Marcus stepped inside. His boots made sounds on the marble floor as he approached me, Francesco, who had been standing proudly a moment ago, shifted nervously beside my mother.
“Alpha,” Marcus said, bowing his head. “I… found something.”
He held a small vial in his hand.
“What is it?”
“A red liquid”.He said
“Where did you get that?” I demanded.
“We pulled it from the recycling chute at the Grand Hotel. A maid saw Francesco,the hotel manager, dump it days after your stay.”
“What is it for?”
“A love-hypnosis potion,” Marcus said. “Highly illegal.” A cold shiver ran down my spine. I remembered the sweet honey smell, the dizzy heat, the way my body refused to obey me. And suddenly, everything made sense. The girl didn’t seduce me; she didn’t want to kiss me; she didn’t want any of it. She was drugged.
A wave of guilt hit me so hard I grabbed the table to stay upright. I called her a w***e, I accused her of trapping me, and I threw her out like trash. She was a victim. And I… had failed to protect her. I turned slowly toward Francesco.
“Francesco,” I said quietly. “You drugged her.” My heart was beating fast.
My mother stepped forward, eyes narrowing. “Explain to us”
“I…I don’t know what that is,” Francesco stammered. His hands shook, and sweat gathered on his forehead. “He’s lying. I would never… Answer me!”
“Why did you do it” I said
Francesco collapsed to his knees. “Alpha, please…”
He flinched at the sound of my hard voice. “I didn’t mean for it to go this far. I just… I just wanted the money. Luna promised a reward.”
“What?”
“You used her to get money,” I said. “You forced her to…” I couldn’t finish the sentence.
“So everything that happened was because of you,” I said quietly.
The guards pinned him harder as I stepped forward.
“You will be punished for poisoning, kidnapping intent, and violating a pack member,” I said coldly. “Send him to the dungeon.”
Two guards grabbed Francesco. He struggled, screaming, "No! Please!" My mother touched my arm gently. “Alexandro…”
But I pulled away. My chest felt too tight, and my breathing came too fast. Punishing him wasn’t enough. I needed to find Anna.
Anna (POV)
I sat on my bed, staring at the wall. Francesco had my test results. He must be with the Alpha right now, telling him everything. What would happen to me? Would he throw me in prison? Would he take my baby away? I said, hugging my stomach. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know how to raise a child. I couldn’t even take care of myself.
I was still wandering in my thoughts when I heard a knock on my door. My heart raced. Was it Francesco? The Alpha's guards coming to arrest me? The knock came again, louder. “Anna, please… open the door,” Marcus called out. “The Alpha is here to see you," he said. My heart almost stopped.
I opened the door with trembling hands, and Alexandro and his warriors walked in.
He walked towards me slowly, his eyes locked on mine. His expression wasn’t cold or angry this time; it was something else.
“Anna,” he said quietly.
I jumped. “Alpha, please… I didn’t tell anyone… I’m going to leave the pack… I won’t cause trouble…”
“Stop,” he said.
“I know the truth now.”
I shook my head, tears spilling. “I swear I didn’t plan this. I never wanted…”
“Anna.” His voice broke slightly. “I know.”
I looked up, confused.
He stopped. Pain flashed across his face.
"Anna," he said quietly. "I'm so sorry for how I treated you.
Marcus found the potion. Francesco confessed. You… you were innocent. All this time.”
I didn't know. I thought…
"You thought I was a w***e," I said, my voice breaking. "You called me that."
“I didn’t want to trap you,” I whispered. “I don’t want your money.”
He flinched like I had slapped him. "I know. And I was wrong. So wrong." He took a careful step closer. "You were drugged; you were hypnotized. You weren’t responsible for what happened that night.”
I should have known. I should have protected you."
Tears streamed down my face. "Why do you care now? Because of the baby?"
"No," he said. "Because you didn't deserve any of this. Because I hurt you when you were already a victim." He reached out slowly, like I was a wounded animal.You’re carrying my child.My heir. And I failed you.
“Let me fix it,” he said softly."Let me take you home and take care of you “Please.
"Home?" I laughed bitterly.
I shook my head weakly. “I… I don’t belong in your world.”
“You belong with me,” he said before thinking.
He reached out and gently touched my hand. I flinched but I didn't pull away. “Anna, you didn’t deserve any of this. And I swear, I will protect you. And your child.”He said
My eyes filled with tears. I whispered, “He’s your child too”
He brushed a tear from his cheek. “I know,” he said.
Alexandro POV
A strange warmth spread through my chest. A feeling I couldn’t recognize.
Something shifted in the air. A faint, familiar pull sparked between us. My wolf stirred inside me, restless, pushing against my chest.
Mate.
The word hit my mind like thunder.
I froze.
Anna’s breath hitched. A soft glow, warm and electric, moved between us. Her hand trembled as she pressed it to her heart.
“You feel that too?” she asked softly.
My voice was barely a whisper. “The mate bond.”
