CHAPTER SIX

Anna (POV) The mate bond hummed between us like a living thing. I could feel Alexandro's heartbeat in my chest, his breath matching mine. It was overwhelming and beautiful at the same time. "Anna," he whispered, his eyes glowing amber. "You're my mate. My true mate." I touched my chest where the warmth spread. "How is this possible? The Moon Goddess..." I shook my head in disbelief. "But… I’m wolfless." "She knew," Alexandro said softly. "Maybe the Moon Goddess chose you for me despite everything." He stepped closer, his hand reaching for mine. "She brought you to me that night. Not by chance, but by fate." Tears rolled down my cheeks. All this time, I thought I was just a mistake. But I was his mate all along. "I'm sorry," he said again, his voice thick with emotion. "I'm so sorry for everything I said. For how I treated you. If I had known..." "You didn't know," I whispered. "Neither of us did." He cupped my face gently, his thumb wiping away my tears. "Let me make it right. Let me give you everything you deserve." "What happens now?" I asked quietly. Alexandro's eyes darkened with determination. "Now, I will take you home. To the pack house. Where you belong." He paused, his hand moving to rest on my stomach. "Both of you." My breath caught. "The pack… they won't accept me. Your mother…" "My mother will learn to respect my Luna," he said firmly. "And anyone who doesn't will answer me." Luna. The word made my heart race. "I want to mark you," Alexandro said suddenly. His eyes burned into mine. "I want the whole world to know you're mine. My mate. My Luna." I shivered at his words. The mark. It was sacred, permanent. A bond that couldn't be broken. "Are you sure?" I whispered. "I'm just… I'm nobody." He said softly, pulling me closer. "You are everything. You're carrying my heir. You're my gift from the Moon Goddess." His forehead pressed against mine. "Say yes, Anna. Please." "Yes," I breathed. Alexandro smiled. He tilted my head gently, exposing my neck. His lips brushed against my skin, sending electricity through my body. "This might hurt," he murmured. "I trust you," I said. His canines lengthened, and then he bit down. Pain shot through me, sharp and hot. I gasped, my fingers digging into his shoulders. But the pain quickly melted into pure pleasure. The mate bond exploded between us, stronger than before. I could feel everything he felt: his love, his regret, his fierce protection. When he pulled back, his eyes were glowing. Blood stained his lips. "You're mine now," he said roughly. "Forever." I touched the mark on my neck. "Forever," I repeated. He kissed me then, soft and gentle. Not like that night when we were drugged. This was real. This was us. For the first time in weeks, I didn’t feel alone. I felt loved. Alexandro (POV) The pack grounds buzzed with morning activities. I was having my quiet moments with my Luna when a knock on the door broke the moment. "Alpha," Marcus called. "We have a situation." I growled in frustration. "What is it?" "Alpha Martinez is here from the Blood Moon Pack. He's demanding to see you." My body tensed. The Blood Moon Pack was powerful and dangerous. What did their Alpha want? I squeezed her hands. "Stay here. I'll handle this." "No," she said quickly. "I'm your Luna now. I should be by your side." Pride flashed in my eyes. “You're right.” I kissed her forehead. “Stay close to me.” We walked to the main hall together. My hands never left her waist. I could feel eyes on us, pack members staring at the fresh mark on Anna's neck. Whispers followed us; I ignored them all. Alpha Martinez, a tall and broad man with gray streaking his dark hair, and his daughter Sophia, a young and beautiful woman with long dark hair and sharp features, walked in through the gates. "Alexandro," Martinez said, his voice booming. "It's been too long." "Martinez," I replied coolly. "What brings you to my territory?" Martinez Martinez smiled. "I come with good news." He gestured to the woman beside him. "This is my daughter, Sophia Martinez." Sophia stepped forward, her eyes locked on mine. "Alpha Alexandro," she said sweetly. "It's an honor." "The honor is mine," I said politely. Martinez's smile widened. "My daughter is your mate, Alexandro. The Moon Goddess has blessed you both." The room went silent. I felt my heart stop. "Excuse me?" I said quietly. "Sophia had a vision," Martinez continued. "The Moon Goddess revealed that you are destined to be together. She is your true mate." Sophia smiled, her eyes gleaming. "I felt the bond the moment I saw you, Alpha. Surely you feel it too." I looked at Anna, her hand instinctively touching the mark on her neck. "That's impossible. I've already found my mate." Martinez looked at Anna for the first time. His expression twisted with disgust. "This… girl? She's nothing. "She is my Luna," I said. "And you will show her respect." Sophia's smile faltered. "Alpha, please. Don't throw away our destiny for a mistake." "Anna is not a mistake," Alexandro said dangerously. Martinez stepped forward, his aura pressing against the room. "Be reasonable, Alexandro. My daughter Sophia is a true Alpha's daughter. She's worthy of being Luna." "No," I said simply. "Sophia… you are not my mate." "You will never be." "But the Moon Goddess…" "I, Alexandro Romano, reject you." My decision is final, cutting her off. "If Sophia were truly my mate, I would feel the bond. I feel nothing." Humiliation burned Sophia’s face. "How dare you…”
