12 | Mark of a Devil

NADIA'S POV

After the monster ball, master insisted that we go back the next day because the office received mountains of requests from the some of the guest that came. From all the request, she prioritise the most dangerous trouble we could ever face first.

"Hmm. I think we should be arriving soon. According to the maps those archaeologist sent us, it should be right around here." She stopped the car in the middle of no where and got out of the car. I too got out and stood beside my master.

This place is beautiful. Who would've guess that I, manage to step my foot in the middle of the desert? I chuckled mentally.

"This is weird. We should be there by now." Master was checking the map. I wonder what makes her accepted this request in the first place. From the description, it's not something that trigger her interest nor the danger at all.

I heard the car door being open. "Mother, where are we?" Yuko asked while Caia look like she's half asleep.

"I have no idea. Yuko, maybe you could find it. Here's the coordinate and map. I'll try contact the archaeologist." Yuko did as told mad I watched her read the map.

"Mommy, why don't we just use the portal?" Caia asked while yawning. She's right! Why didn't we use the portal?

"Because, if you read the request details, what we're about to face is something that not even I have encounter." All three of us looking at each other. We all thinking about the same thing, we literally waltz into our own death trap here.

"What? Don't tell me you all scared." Master chuckled while trying to contact the archaeologist with the satellite phone.

"If even you haven't face this, why choose us to go? Why not Israfel?" Master walked up to us with a phone in her hand. "Because I think you two can teach Nadia how to face something dangerous head on. Of course I don't think you could survive though."

Master really went straight to the point! She smiled at her daughters while dialing the archeologist. After a couple of tries, finally, she contacted the archaeologist and asked for direction to the camp site.

After long hours of driving, we finally came across a couple of human who looks like the people Master described.

"Asura?" The man asked when we got out from the car. "Yes. That's me. I am Asura Demonix." They shake hands. I bow. "If you please explain to us what did you release." Master went straight to business.

Caia seems like she's back to life again and Yuko seems to be having trouble walking around with her kimono.

"I told you that you should wear some pants. But noooo... you just have to be conservative." Caia pointed out while Yuko ignored it.

"GIRLS! This is important and I don't want any of you to be slacking off!" Master warned her daughters. "Anyway, please continue professor." The archaeologist nodded.

"Werehyena is an analogy to a werewolf for therianthropy involving hyenas. It is common in the folklore of North Africa and the Near East, as well as some adjacent territories." Say what now?!

"Unlike werewolves, which are usually portrayed as being originally human, some werehyena lore tells of how they can also be hyenas disguised as humans. This is why we thought that every single hyena we found might have been disguise themselves as one of our worker. Some of the artefact we found was stolen. Few days later, we encounter this matter at hands."

Wait, we're dealing with werewolves now? I'm getting so confused by this.

"Some historian stated that hyenas are vampiric creatures that attack people at night and suck the blood from their necks. Arabic folklore tells of how hyenas can mesmerize victims with their eyes or sometimes with their pheromones." Explained my Master.

"That's right but, what we saw coming out from that cave, isn't something that was illustrated in all the books at all." Said another archaeologist.

"Can you explained it." Caia now taking the interest.

"It's a creature alright but ... the skin. it's scaly."

"It's furry." Said another personnel.

"No! Definitely all skin. It's moist looking too."

There's so many version, we don't know which to believe!

"Alright." Yuko half yelled. "We can't hear anything if all of you talk to us at the same time." We all turned to the professor.

"We believe it's a werehyena's. We heard the howling, like a wolf but not a wolf. It's too small for a wolf." Master sighed.

"Furry, scaly and all flesh? This is too much a coincidence. Maybe it's something else. A shapeshifter perhaps? Anyway, I believe you released them from a cage or some sort? May we examine it."

The professor nodded and showed us towards the tenth that has the cage mentioned.

I watched as master circling around the cage. I noticed the professor and the others looking at my master. "Do you think they know that we're not human?" I asked Caia.

"I think the professor know we're not human. The archaeologist made a request through the office after all."

"Hmmm. This is ... weird. But nothing we can't handle." Master assured. "If you please, leave us alone for a second while we figure out what we should do." The professor nodded and leave us alone.

"Mother? You know what kind of creature this is huh?" Master nodded.

"It's a vampire. Shapeshifting vampire. Caia, explain to Nadia this creature." Caia nodded.

"A shapeshifting vampire is a rare type of vampire that only exist in the movie. That's what we thought. Now that mommy found this inscription on the cage, we found them. And from the looks of things, this cage was made by the church. Am I right mommy?" Master nodded.

"It's poorly made to add to that. They shouldn't create something to hold a beast with a lock that could be open by someone. That's so not them." Master sighed. "So what's the plan? Should we kill or capture it?" Yuko asked.

"If it's out of control, we kill it. If I can handle it, we capture it. That's the plan." Master said.

"How do we find it then?" I asked.

"Easy. We have Caia to do that." We all turned to Caia. "And how is that?" I asked, curious about it myself.

"Caia has some type of pheromones she can use to any type of creatures. She can lure anyone, anything to her. Even ghost." Yuko made fun of her sister.

"That settle it. Honey, get out there and lure that vampire to us. We promise we will kill it before you could bare its child." Master winked at her daughter with a smile on her face. While Yuko and I laughed at her situation.

"Stay there." Master smiled at Caia and let her stayed inside the cage.

"When the beast went inside, use your pheromone to stop it from moving so Yuko can shoot it down." Master explaining th plan one more time.

I helped Yuko preparing her bows and arrow. "Is it wise to let Caia inside the cage?" I'm beginning to worried about her well being.

"It's fine. Caia handle worst case before. This is nothing compare to her past mission." Somehow I feel assure. "So Master send you all to mission way harder and difficult for you to handle? Why?" Yuko shrugged.

"Tough love I guess. She raised us to be strong in any way possible. We all have the same kind of hardship to go through growing up. She's always fair to us." I froze when I heard howling from a distance.

"Earlier that expected. Here, hold this quiver while I preparing my aim." I did as told while watching master pushing the professor and his students away from the cage.

"Is that it?" I whispered.

I heard Yuko took a deep breath before releasing the arrow and it hit the beast on its left eye. I was taken aback when the beast turned it's face to us.

In front of our own eyes, we watched as the beast suddenly standing up two feet.

"Oh damn." Yuko said while taking another arrow. "It's going to attack us, isn't it." I asked Yuko who's aiming the arrow again.

"Yup. We shouldn't stay here anymore but I don't know, knowing that thing will attack us makes me want to live my dead life again and again." She chuckled before releasing the arrow and it hit the beast's chest.

"Oh sweet devil! What does it take to kill it!" Now she's angry.

"Mommy! Stay where you are!" I heard Caia said. "Master!" I was about to help her when she raised her hand. It forbid me from going any further. "Why can't I go to her side!" I asked, trying to pushed my way through.

"Stop. She's using a barrier. She knows what she's doing." Yuko pulled me back to her. No... I need to be there!

"CAMARA!" Yuko and I fell on our butt when we were hit but some kind of sound wave that coming from hit master.

"SIT!" Again that voice of her send chill to our spine. The beast actually turned around and stand on all four again. "SIT, NOW!" By now the beast was force to stay on the ground as if there's some kind of power forcing it to bow down to my master.

"What just happened?" I heard Yuko chuckling at my question.

"Mother is using her authoritative voice. No creature immune to that power of hers. I bet mother can handle that shapeshifting vampire herself." She never fail to amaze me.

"Professor, is this your beast?" Master asked the professor who's nodding his head.

"Caia, chain it." Caia walked out of the cage and placed a collar around its neck. "Mission accomplish." Master smiled.

Both Yuko and I took the easy way to get down from the little hill and made our way towards the others.

"So, this is the beast that jammed the portal from appearing huh. Nice power you have there doggy." It growled at my master which earned it a kick on it's head by Caia.

"You don't growl to your master!"

"Cool down." Master turned her head to me.

"Nadia, place your hand on its head and tell me what you feel." I did and I was waiting for something to happen but, nothing.

"Ra doesn't respond to it huh. That settled it, this beast is manmade. A human created him through science. That explain the communication interference." The professor came to meet us.

"What does it mean, Asura?" He asked.

"Meaning someone is aiming to destroy your research. This is not a genuine beast. That also explain that awfully made cage. I've seen the original cage that the real church built. It's so much different than that particular one. For example, most ancient beast are afraid of wood. This cage was made from steel."

Wood? Seriously? Beast afraid of wood? Why? It's just plain wood!

"Well, whatever it is, you've done your job. I'll be sure to come by to your building for the payment. Thanks again Asura. I really appreciate it." Master smiled and shake hands with the professor.

I am still confused as to why they calling each other by their first name basis. Isn't the professor a human?

"If you all wondering to why the professor called me by my name and not by honorific is because he's my father's friend. He's not a human, he's a hybrid. A devil and a fallen angel. He lied by claiming himself as a human. He likes to stay and educate the humans with his own style."

Master easily grabbing the beast by its neck. "And you beasty, You've cause a lot of trouble for everyone. Let's go back and find out about your master." Master summon a portal and she threw the beast into the portal before excusing herself.

"Asura, you never change." The professor chuckled.

"What about the car you came here with?" He asked. "Master said you can have it." I bow and followed my master inside the portal.

As the portal disappeared, master and her daughters were standing in front of the beast.

"To think someone or something created this thing. Mommy, we need to do something before it's too late. I thought artificial-monster-making end after you raided that mad scientist's lab."

"Raided? More like we manage to kill everything in thy lab. Seems like the doctor has an apprentice. It's my fault for not search the lab thoroughly. If you need me to destroy them, I'll do it, Mother." Yuko seems guilty

"Me too. There's no way you'll get to have fun alone." Caia was excited.

"ENOUGH!" Master yelled.

Her voice made us kneel in front of her. "I have a better plan. There's no need for the fuss because there's another way to find the person responsible."

Master grabbed the beast by the neck. "This beast will tell me exactly what I want." Master smirked.

Master and I were retiring for the night when I remembered something that Agramon had told me.

"Master, can we have a minute?" I asked while I help her change into an appropriate attire for the night. "Sure. What is it?" She was walking out of the closet to the couch. She turned on the television and like always she's watching a late night news.

"Master, Agramon said you... I... I mean ... you asked your children to call me ... mother. Why?" Master looked up from the newspaper she was reading and face me.

"Oh. At the time I was having a fight with myself and there's a time that I feel like I am attracted to you. I still am." She smiled while I blushed in a deep shade of red.

Does she have feelings for me? That's new even for me. "But master, I am a servant. Why would you feel that way towards a low breed like me?"

"Low breed? Nadia, I was the one who turned you into a devil. You're far from a low breed. Your the general of my army, I'm your queen of course. Your the second in command in my household. So no, your not a low breed. You have my blood running in your veins. By now I'm sure your sense of humanity is partially gone by now." She winked.

"Come, sit." She patted an empty space beside her.

"To be honest, at first I thought you as a love interest. But after what happened with the Goliath, I sense something foreign. I can feel your feelings towards me was between a mother and a child. But now that you asked me, I can feel that the feeling you have for me is not between a mother and child, am I right, Nadia?"

I blushed yet again.

She chuckled and suddenly wrapped her arms around mine while she rested her head on my shoulder. "This is nice. I like this feeling. Being protected by someone who's not a pussy." I chuckled at myself.

"Don't laugh. My ex-husband is a coward. Still am, I'm positive. He never protected me. It's me who protected him. Even when I was pregnant with his kids, I am the one who put mine and my children's life on the line just to save him from any kind of attack." He reminded me of my human brothers.

"Master, What will your family say if we continue this?" I asked, worried about her reputation.

"To hell with them. Besides, you've acted like a mother towards my children even before I asked you too. That's a plus for me. And my children even listened to you. That's a first for me as well. They never listen to anyone besides myself. They don't even listen to their father." Master chuckled.

Should I feel proud of them?

"Besides, I don't mind having your child. If they have your heart and the way of your thinking, I would love to bare them." My what? A child? What does she mean by that?

"What? Don't you know? You can make a woman pregnant now. But, if you wish to be the one who carried them, baby, sure. We can arrange that too." She winked.

I immediately shook my head no.

"So I have to be carrying them?" Huh? Why are we talking about having a child now? "I don't mind. I love the feeling of being someone who gives life to a new life. I mean, I had 12 of them." She chuckled.

"Master .." she cut me off.

"Please, call me Asura or darling, anything except calling me, master." I blushed again. I never thought of calling her darling. I always thought if I did, my head will be at her altar for some ritual.

"Stop thinking too much and enjoy the view you have right now!" I don't know what happened but when I finally have the grip on what's happening, Master was straddling me while taking off her clothes.

"What... what's going on..." I asked before she crashes her lips on to mine. "I decided... I'm going to mark you as mine." Huh? Mark as her what? She pushed my head to the side and tore my clothes off. "What ... what's going on?" I asked.

"I'm going to mark you." Before I could say anything she bites on my neck, sucking out my blood. "Whoa... that... that feels nice." I begin to relax. She might be draining my blood right now but ... I kinda like it.

When she removed her mouth from me, I was in a daze.

"Delicious." My blood dripping from her the corner of her mouth before she licks it clean using her tongue. "You're officially mine. See." She pointed at her left neck and showed me a writing. "Nadia. And my name is on yours." I don't know how to read this writing though.

"I may look forceful but you know soon why. I have an occurring dream about this." She winked.

"Seems like your familiar likes my power running into your veins. Oh, if anyone asked you why I marked you, just say we're madly in love. I'm sure my kids will understand now that you have the mark. Be a good parent, okay?"

She stood up and showed me her whole body.

"This body belongs to you now. Protect it with your life, okay beautiful?" Master smiled before jingling her breast before laughing at my reaction.

"I'm going to have a little talk with my children about this now. You, stay here, watch some television. But please don't watch something like that."

I quickly turn off the television when it showed girls in swimsuits. "If you want to see one in a bikini, I'll gladly show you my body in a swimming suit." She winked before grabbing a robe and walked out of the room.

"Seriously, what just happened?" I asked no one in particular.
