10. First run

Hearing her saying those words to us Iri started demanding control over my body, and I only could guess what she would do. Always when she was angry blood was spilled and I didn't want that on my first day out of my cell. I started shaking, losing my internal battle and once again I was afraid of myself. My fear distracted me even more, and that was all that Iri needed to take control. 'Iri, please.' 'Sometimes you have to fight for respect.' - was all she responded before launching at that girl. Iri started throwing blow after blow at shocked girl. I wasn't trained at all, so my fists started hurting, my strength however was terrifying. After five or six punches the girl's face was covered in blood, she had a busted lip and under her eye was already forming a bruise. She fell on her back and looked at me with visible fear. "Call me crazy one more time." - said Iri, still controlling my body. Her presence added an animalistic vibe into my own voice, and it was spooky. "Who are you?" - a girl sitting on the ground barely whispered. "Agnes, you are in the presence of the daughter of Alpha Balfour." - Blake informed her emotionlessly, like the thing that I've done was absolutely normal. "Alpha Jade, this is Agnes Tate Warrior Trainee." - Blake continued the introduction. Girl looks even more shocked and scared than before, and I could feel Iri enjoying herself in that very moment. "Agnes, you should leave." - said Molly, and her voice wasn't cheerful like it used to, instead she was cold and haughty. This Agnes girl left us without another word, not looking back, like she was afraid I would attack her once again. When I was watching her receding figure I felt that Iri gave me control over my body back. "Why didn't you stop me?" - I asked accusingly both Molly and Blake. "Why would we?" "Are you serious Blake?! I could have harmed her. You shouldn't let me out this soon." They exchanged meaningful glances and both started chuckling like I've shared the best joke ever. I watched them equally shocked and irritated. Their happy moment was interrupted by a deep authoritative voice. " Jade!" Molly and Blake stopped smiling and both lowered their heads in submission. I turned around to stand face to face with Connor. "Connor." - I greeted him right back for which I received a scowl of disapproval. "Did I see right, that you've attacked one of my warriors?" - my so called father asked, folding his arms on his chest, probably trying to intimidate me. I mimicked his movement and it must've looked ridiculous cause he was like whole feet taller than I am. " She called me 'Crazy b***h', and Iri didn't appreciate that." - I explained shortly, still looking him dead in the eyes. Hearing that his expression softened. "But you still shouldn't attack her, you could've told me and…" "Oh cut the crap Connor, you said it yourself that you want me to take over, yet you wish I would run to my Daddy whenever someone talks s**t to me?!" I don't know why, but a small smile spread under his nose. He watched me for a while, then he turned to the Crawfords. " You can leave us." Molly and Blake without another word turned around and left like obedient pups. I felt a little betrayed, as they didn't seem to care what their Alpha would do to me. " Why did you send them away? I was enjoying their company." "I think Iri is ready." - he said, clearly ignoring my recent question. "Ready for what?" - I asked cautiously. "To spread her paws in our woods. Come on." - that said he turned towards the treeline not even sparing me a glance, like he was sure I would follow. Which I did. I don't know why but his words made Iri extremely excited. She was running, howling and jumping in my head giving me one hell of a headache. He took one of the towels prepared for exercising warriors, but kept going forward. We walked for about ten more minutes, not talking at all, which I didn't mind as I still had a hard time warming up to him. He finally stopped when we were deep in the forest. I could no longer hear any sounds coming from the pack, so we must be really far. "Ok, undress behind the tree and cover yourself with this." - he said, handing me the towel. My eyes grew big at those words. I knew, there was something wrong with him! "Are you out of your f*****g mind?! I'm not undressing in front of you you sick p*****t!" - I yelled at him. For some reason he rolled his eyes in irritation. "If you morph into your wolf wearing your clothes, you would have to get back to Pack naked, cause they will be ruined." "What?" - I asked, still not following. He released a deep sigh. "I want to help you with your first shift. You are free of all the medications and you can now change in your wolf form. Iri is ready, and you yourself said that you wanted to know our ways, that's the most important one. So do you want my help or not?" I thought about it for a while, and I must admit I was scared. Whenever Iri gained too much control it always ended badly, damn even a few minutes ago we attacked some chick. " I'm not so sure… What if I harm someone?" " That's what I'm here for." He looked so sure that he could control me, but I still wasn't convinced. There were so many things that could go wrong. Heck, I always tried to keep that part of me hidden and now he wants me to let it go. 'Iri, you want to do this?' 'Yes!' 'And you'll behave?' 'Yeah, yeah' I looked at Connor and hesitantly nodded. I took a towel from his hand and went behind the tree to undress. I was glad that the towel was big enough to cover my small body all the way to my knees. Still it was awkward to stand like this in front of my father. When I returned to him, he nodded approvingly. "Did you ever complete your shift before?" - I shook my head. "Ok, so you need to give your wolf full control, don't fight her cause it only will last longer. First shift can be extremely painful, but it gets easier the more you do it. You ready?" I nodded hesitantly once again. It all seemed like a really bad idea. " Great, so relax and open yourself to Iri, she'll know what to do." I did as he said. With closed eyes I tried to be as calm as you possibly could while releasing the bloodthirsty beast living inside me. No biggie! But even though I was extremely tense I started feeling the change in my body. I opened my eyes only to notice that my arms started growing extra hair and my hand changed its shape. Every bone in my body started popping and dislocating, and yeah, just like Connor said it was painful… but I had worse. The whole process lasted for about ten minutes and when my body stopped aching I stood on my all four paws holding my head high. My paws were covered in auburn fur similar to my hair shade. "Impressive. For the first shift you took it extremely well." - said Connor approvingly nodding. I don't know what it is with that wolf of mine when he is next to us, but Iri started wagging her tail like a well trained dog. Connor went behind a tree and a few seconds later and from behind the same tree returned a dark grey wolf with icy blue eyes. He looked very intimidating, if I weren't in my own wolf form I would probably scream and run for my life. 'That's Cas, he's our Alpha.' - said Iri slightly bowing her head to the wolf. 'Why are you this obedient to him?' 'He's my father' - she more stated the obvious than the answer, but if she accepts him, maybe I will too someday. Cas pointed his head toward the woods letting me know he wanted to go that way. I started walking, adjusting to my new body and when I started feeling more comfortable in it I quickened my pace to jog and then to full speed running. I must admit that running this fast through serene forest was the best thing that ever happened to me. I finally felt right, finally felt free. This is something that I will most likely do often. My senses heightened when I sniffed some small wild animal. What was it? Maybe a rabbit. For some reason my mouth watered and Iri started tracking her prey. Our speed allowed us to catch to it in no time, and with one swift movement she snapped its neck. That made me sick, and If I were in control I would probably throw up, but she was proud of herself and started devouring raw meat making me even more nauseous. That was just… wrong. Poor little rabbit. Connor or rather Cas was watching me from afar letting me enjoy myself and evaluating me. I didn't like it, but I was too busy to care. I lost a track of time, but Cas made me go back to the place where I left my clothes when it was already getting dark. He shifted and dressed once again behind the tree and returned to me. "To change back Iri must let Jade get the control back, and you need to imagine your human body. This process should be easier." I did as I was told and in fact it was much quicker and less painful. Connor covered me with the towel, and when I was back to being human he turned around letting me dressed in peace. " That was fun, but we should get back to the hospital." - I said breaking the awkward silence. "Yes, but I don't want you to get back to the hospital. Let's talk in my office first."
