Isobelle An hour had passed since Mason, Lucas, and Grayson left for patrol duties. The humid air had made me sweat like a b***h in heat for most of the day, so I took a quick rinse beneath the make-shift shower at the back of the cabin. The sun resembled a squashed satsuma as it faded into the horizon, casting lilac ripples across the sky, and with the fading light came a swarm of pesky flies that seemed to love me. I got sick of swatting my hands in front of my face. The cool water stung my sun-kissed shoulders a little, but that was my fault for forgetting to reapply sunscreen.
