Chapter 4

Jaxon POV

We arrived outside the Grey Diamond Pack around 8:30 pm. The line to get in was very long. I seen Dragons flying in and fairies over head as well. This must be one of the biggest coming out parties I ever seen. Bryce was looking out the window like a kid in a candy store. We both decide to wear fitted tux with our pack colors blue and red ties. Nic had on a floor length red ball gown with silver accessories. Her hair was pinned up and her makeup was heavy with a deep red lip. As we started to get closer and closer to the valet my wolf was jumping around. He was excited about something I am guessing our mate was inside. I adjusted myself in the driver seat. And focused on driving forward. As we finally got the station I could smell the most beautiful fragrance of lilac and cinnamon. Yes we were very close to our mate. The valet opened my door I got and opened Nics door and helped her out. She grabbed the hook of my elbow and proceeded to walk the red carpet with Bryce behind us. The line going inside was just as long as it was driving in. There was a huge white tent with lights all around. There was a big banner with a picture of Jasmine welcoming everyone. As we got nearer and nearer to the entrance the smell of lilac was getting stronger and stronger. We noticed that the Alpha was receiving her guest and it hit me like a ton of bricks. My wolf Blaze was howling in my head MATE!! MATE!! MATE!! She was even more beautiful in person. She hair was wild and untamed. The curls looked like she had just got of bed and it was me she had left. I wanted to touch it and run my hands through it all night. Her smile was gorgeous. When she tilted her head back and laughed at whatever was said I knew I wanted to be the only one to make her laugh like that. When I was able to see her outfit, I balled up my fist in anger. Why was my mate dressed like this? Her body was thicker than her picture let me to believe. I could see the swell of her breast through whatever material she had on. Luckily, she had the sense to use n****e coverings or I would have had to murder every man in this place for looking at what was mine! Her legs were perfect not a scratch on them smooth like coffee and long as hell. I could see them around my face around my waist for days and nights. As we started to get closer, I was getting agitated because some of the alphas were single and holding hand a little too long for my liking. Looking at her with lust filled eyes. Nic started to pull away and I had to apologize for holding her tightly because of my anger. I relaxed a little and she put her arm back. I wanted to let her go all together but I could not do that to her without raising suspicion. As soon as we walked up to her, she turned around and we were staring at each other. Her beauty this close literally stopped me from speaking. I noticed her lips moving but I could not hear anything. It was like I was in my own world and it was just me and her. Then her lips stopped moving and it was a frown. I hear a cough from behind me and then I felt a jab in my back. I turned to my brother who had a smirk on his face. At that moment I wanted to kill him, but I did not. He tilted his head towards Jasmine and tried to get me to say something anything. But words still failed me. What was wrong with me? Why can’t I talk? Soon It was Nic that was talking. “Well, my name is Nicole Worthington and this silent guy next to me is Alpha Jaxon Stone and this is his beta and brother Bryce Stone”.  She commented Jasmine smiled and nodded her head. Well this is awkward because I’m not sure what to say. Why am I this shy? “And who do we have next to you Alpha Jasmine”? Bryce asked. Good save Bryce. I guess he can live to see another day. “This is my Beta Natalie Fitzgerald, and my personal assistant Matteo.” She commented and smiled up at him. I did not like the way she smiled at him. Matteo was a big dude and from the smell of it he was also a vampire. I wonder what their relationship really was like. He had his hand on her back and it took me all my power not to snatch his hands from her.  She told us to enjoy the party and we walked away while she greeted her other guest. We made our way to our assigned table that just so happened to be close to the main table and stage. Bryce sat towards my right and Nic on my left. We shared the table with a dragon from Norway named Tristan and his 2nd Charles. Also, it was a witch and her warlock mate Jane and Kirk. Conversation was light as they talked about the last time they came, and it was for the funeral of her parents. I sat and listened to them explain how it was a car accident and Jasmine left for 5 years. It was amazing that she was able to accomplish so much being away for so long. I guess with technology now you can do anything you wanted to do from anywhere in the world. Nic seemed to be preoccupied with something when I leaned over and asked her what was wrong, she just shrugged her shoulders and kept listening to the conversation of the table. I reached down and grabbed her hand under the table and gave it squeeze she smiled and looked forward. Looking around the tent I can see they spared no expense. A Dj and live band shared the stage. It was a photo booth in the corner with props and the fairies seem to take that over. There was open bar and a candy station set up a few feet away from that. Bryce got up and went to get us drinks. About 30 round tables where set up around the pool which was turned into a dance floor. So we can see everyone and everything. The set up was nice. I seen the photographer and videographer capturing the event. I am sure it will be nice to look back on. About an hour later I watched Alpha Jasmine walk across the dance floor to her table with her entourage in tow plus another couple and two older gentlemen. I can tell that the older gentlemen had to be relatives of hers because I see a little bit of both in her. As she walked by, she turned her head and winked at me. Or maybe I imagined it I’m not sure but I know that whatever she did I felt it right in my pants. Bryce came back with our drinks just in time for her to talk. She went to the table and picked up a microphone and walked back to the center of the dance floor. Her voice came through the speakers. “Hello and welcome to the Grey Diamond Pack”. She said and an applause filled the air. “As you all know I was just named Alpha after retuning home from being away. I want to thank you for coming to my coming out party. Even if it’s a couple of years late”. She laughed and so did a few of her pack members. “Also, tonight I will be inviting Alphas if they are interested to come back next weekend for a let’s get to know each other meeting. I haven’t been in the states for a while, so I’m interested in getting to know my neighbors a little better”. She glanced at me and winked again. I straighten up and was wondering did I have plans next weekend. If I did im cancelling them ASAP! “Also I would like to introduce you to my beta and best friend Natalie Fitzgerald. And my top warrior and Delta Chase Green”. She turned and they stood up from where they were and waved. An Applause was had and then it got quiet again. “well with that out the eat drink and have fun tonight”! she said and Went towards the stage and gave the mic to one of the band crew.

“Yes, grandfather and GG”. I smiled sweetly at them. If looks could kill I would probably be dead. They were walking up to me and did another once over on me. I knew they will say something about my outfit and I for one am not changing for them. “young lady what do you have on”? GG said with a scowl on his face. “its my outfit for tonight and before you say anything one word, I’m going to shimmer out here so quickly your head will spin”. I told him

Grandfather Mike looked down and had the good sense not to get involved. He was my mothers’ father and after I left, he was the first person I turned to. Staying with him in Louisiana after the death of my parents was the best thing I could do for my mental and physical recovery. He helped with the important research of my wolf since I did inherit from my mothers side. “Well at least your ass isn’t showing and please don’t embarrass me tonight”. With that said he walked away and Grandfather Mike followed with a smile on his face. I sighed and held my head up. I will apologize to GG tomorrow. Maybe take him to breakfast or even cook for him and let him know that I would never do anything to disappoint him.

The party planner walked up to us and showed us where we needed to stand to welcome the guess. Here goes nothing. Nat was on my right and Matteo was on my right. “let’s get this over and done with so I can get a drink or 4”. I said with a smile. Nat held my hand and was beaming with excitement. She all but said she needed to get licked and laid tonight in no order. I have not seen a p***s in 3 years. My ex Victor did a number on me. I thought he could possible be the one for me since I never found my mate and I was feeling the pressure from GG to seal the deal. Sasha never liked him or his wolf. She said he smelt like cigarettes and cheap musk all the time. We met in Japan my first year there but after I caught him in the bed with not one but two, she wolfs and a witch I felt like it was going to work. I’m all for s*****l experience but dang can you show some type of restraint.  I felt we were exclusive but apparently that d**k was for everyone.   I shimmered from his place and went to pack and left on the first plane out to South America. He tried calling me to apologize but I just blocked his calls and ignored him on social media. Thinking back it wouldn’t have been to bad if he would have just told me but he didn’t and well I’m tighter than a nun in a room full of priest. Hopefully, I can catch a one night stand if I don’t find my mate tonight.

Limousines and foreign cars started pulling into the valet area. Each time the door open I kept getting a feeling as though my mate would come out and be married with pups because he could not wait for me. Not that I was ready to be married or even have pups but it was just the point of do a rejection then get married and start a family.

“Good evening and welcome to Grey Diamond Pack”. I said to this Alpha and his mate. He looked at me with male appreciation while is Luna gave me the side eye. I elbowed Nat because she laughed coughed. I bid the Luna and her mate a farewell and watched them enter the tent. Matteo was looking at his Beta and I’m pretty sure he will get a happy ending tonight look bastard!

A big diesel size truck pulled in. It was all black on black with a lifted kit on it. I could feel the vibrations from my toes to my happy box between my leg. I mused this could be promising. A man about 6’5 jumped down from the passenger side. He handsome to say the less and before I could lick my lips in appreciation Nat mind links me with DIBS  I laugh at her antics and tell her to go for what she knows. More and more guest pour in and I’m getting tired and really want my four drinks like yesterday.

Soon a limo pulls in and there is something familiar about the man getting out I could not quit put my finger on it. As soon as I could see who it was I was looking into the eyes of Victor my bastard of an ex. He stepped out and is immediately surrounded by two women. I just smile and mindlink Nat. Her face turns sour she knows all about victor and his antics. I tell her to smile and be polite. After all this is my party and I’m not going to let anyone ruin it especially someone like victor. 

“Hello Jazzy, its been a while”. He smiles seductively at me. I cringe on the inside but smile on the outside. I smile sweetly at him as if nothing has happened. As if he did not cheat on me with multiple women at a time. But I will say he looks very good. And if I am being honest, I miss the things he use to do to my body. Victor was Italian and come from a long line of Beta men. He stood at 6’3 slightly taller than men. He was medium built with a square face with long black hair. He could be a double Olivier Martinez. His accent always brought me to my knees but now hearing him talk all I wanted to do was slap him. “How are the girls I asked”. I laughed loudly. I wanted him to know that I wasn’t hurt, and I was okay with the betrayal. He looked at me bewildered as to why I was laughing. “Their fine as you can see”. I looked to his left and right. He brought these b*****s to my coming out party. Well, that’s just great. I wanted to mess him up so badly but Matteo sensing my anger walked up to me pulled me closer and kissed the side of my head. That was what he did to annoy men that could not take rejection very well or to calm me down. Which calming me down was what I needed to do at this point.

“well enjoy the festivities you and your friends”. I dismissed him and I could that pissed him off. He sized up Matteo and walked off. “thank you Matty I need that”. I hugged him back as we continued to greet more guest. Then the most amazing aroma hit my nostrils. I was like fresh rain and pinecones. I felt my juice box getting wet. Sasha was purring in my head. I knew my mate was close, but I did not know how close he was. I looked down the line and it was about 4 groups coming up for me to greet. As the smell got closer, I finally saw him. OMG!! OMG!! he was gorgeous. He was at least 6’8 perfectly built made for riding up and down all night. His smile made my panties flood with juice. I had to mask my smell because I did not want him or anyone to know I was turned on like this. I made a mental note to shimmer upstairs and change my underwear before going inside. His blond hair was slicked back, and his brown twinkled with lust. At least I was not the only effected in this. Sasha stood up prancing around in my head. She wanted to pounce on him now, but I told her we had to wait. She fell back down with her feet up being the drama queen that she is. “Welcome to the Grey Diamond Pack”. I spoke. And it was nothing. Okay did my breath stink. Is he mute? Is something in my teeth? Okay why isn’t he talking? I look at both Nat and Matteo and they just shrug. I was about to call the guard when the lady who I did not even notice on my mates’ arm started to talk. Sasha jumped up and started to growl. I calmed her down I needed to remain neutral in situations like this. If he was mated and married, then we needed to reject each other. I was not about to give him the power to hold over me. If he can be mated and married whoever this woman is then I can fine my own mate. “Well, my name is Nicole Worthington and this silent guy next to me is Alpha Jaxon Stone and this is his beta and brother Bryce Stone”. She said sweetly. I smiled because she did not say anything about them being together or her being a Luna. This was good? Nicole was blond hair and blue eyes. She was extremely pretty. “And who do we have next to you Alpha Jasmine”? Beta Bryce said. Still Alpha Jaxon had not said a word. He just kept starring at me. What was his problem? I turned to Bryce and introduced him to Nat and Matteo. Matteo stepped up and put his arm around my waist. When he did that, I looked at Jaxon and I knew that this would not end nicely. His stance was one of predator versus prey and I knew that the prey was me. For some reason that turned me on even more. I seen how the woman was looking from him to me and I could tell something was happening. If she was his lady then she was pissed. Something weird was going on with this couple and I needed to do change panties and greet everyone else. So I invited them inside and watched them walked off as I greeted the next guest. After about another hour or so I shimmered upstairs and changed clothes.

“Natalie did you notice how weird that one alpha was”? I asked as I came back to them at the entrance of the tent. “Yeah, that was crazy and how the woman was starring at you as well. It wasn’t jealousy it was like she wanted you”. She pulled lip gloss form her fanny and reapplied it on her. Hmmm I got that feeling as well but if she was into woman then why did she smell of my mate. I’m sure they fooled around a lot. I was not dumb. He was hot and she was very pretty. Well, my grandfather and GG walked up to us at the entrance and told us it was time to start. I walked in followed by my crew. As I was approaching the table, I seen the way Nicole was looking at me and I winked at her. She swallowed hard. My mate looked at me and I smiled. I walked up to my table and grabbed the mic. I did a quick intro and told everyone to have fun and enjoy the party.

As I was about to sit down when that low life Victor came up to me and dragged me to the dance floor. I wanted to snatch my hand back, but I was surrounded by people and I did not want to cause a scene. He twirled me around the dance floor. On the outside we looked like the perfect couple enjoying each other’s company but, on the inside, I wanted to be far away from him as possible.

Fate must be on my side because as soon as the song ended Alpha Jaxon was standing there with his hand out and I gladly took it. Victor raised his brow in challenge towards Jaxon and he simply smiled and smelled my neck. I melted into his arms and kissed him. Then there was a hush that came over the crowd. I do not know why I kissed Jaxon, but I am glad I did. I fought for dominance and he let me win. It was my party after all, and I guess I should treat myself. As we continued to kiss on the dance floor GG took the mic and let everyone know that the fireworks were on the outside not on the inside. Soon there was a laugh across the tent. Alpha Jaxon let me go and his lip were swollen. I smiled and walked back to my table leaving him on the dance floor. I need time to regroup and figure out what I was going to do next.
