“You heard me right, Sarah” Kate locked eyes with me. “Father wants you on this mission.” All this felt bizarre to me. Father? But why? Kate took a cigarette out and lit it. “Didn't you say your mate turns out to be Adrian. Adrian Peterson?”

“Yes but…” Hold on! Reality hit me so hard. “Th- this mission has something to do with Adrian” My heart felt heavy for some reason.

“Yes, a hundred percent” Kate blew out smoke from the cigarette. “Our mission was to inflate the Peterson family and steal something valuable from them. And to do that we had to know the ins and out of there. So we tried getting close to Adrian, but his cold personality and bully nature turned us into enemies. So now we are always at logger heads. I sent this report to my father last time and I guess he decided to rope you in.”

That was when everything became clear, so everything was all a lie. Father making me know that my mate was Adrian Peterson, was all an act. He probably knew that I was bored at home, and he gave me a reason to run away.

“So you can decide to follow fathers plan, get close to Adrian Peterson, get into his home and steal what we came in for, and we are out”

“And what will you advise me to do?” I asked Kate, feeling unsure, all this still sounded new to me.

“ If I was you? I carry my a$s back to the castle and lock myself in my room. Because toying with the Peterson's is like toying with a sharp knife, but toying with someone like Adrian Peterson, is like playing with a blazing fire that can swallow you whole, and leaves no room for ashes.

I gulp down, that is one way to describe someone, is he that deadly? I looked at the figure that still lay on the ground, the fire illuminated his face. He looked so calm, and handsome, his lips so full and reddish that I felt like kissing and biting them all at once. But thinking of it he looked only a bit cold. Can I do this, it would be a waste to just go back home empty. That place was too dry and boring. But I do know that once this thing is over, my sister will be joining me and I won't have to be alone, and father will spoil me more and more.

“I am ready, I will do it” Kate paused her finger, looking at me like a ghost. She wasn't really expecting that answer, but what can I do? I 'd rather take my sister down with me and receive all the praise and attention from my father, than just live in a big boring castle, full of wolves.

“I wasn't expecting this answer, Sarah, I would ask again. Do you know what you are about to enter into” my sister's eyes locked onto mine, I hesitate for a moment. Although Adrian was my mate, I don't feel anything for him. And most importantly he is a bully, and so mean. But I still feel I can put up with him. He's not colder than father, right? So yes, I can do this.

I nodded my head in affirmation. My sister didn't say a word anymore, she took me to the group and introduced them as her sister who will be joining the group. Now my mission was very simple, but stressful, try getting close to Adrian. That was the first phase of the plan.

I got to know the group, Kate, my sister who is the leader, and zero who act as a representative from the tree clan, and John and his companion who were also representatives from the vampires. With them this mission was going to be easy. But why do I feel this uneasy? I looked at the figure laying far from us. His breath was stable, showing that he was still asleep. Was this guy really dangerous?

I pray I come unscathed in this. The best plan now is to pray he accepts me as his mate. This would make things easier.

I watched Adrian struggling on his feet. His teeth bite into his teeth. That strike zero gave him was indeed deadly, indeed this zero was never to be underestimated. I made a mental note of not being in his bad book.

“You need to rest,” I told Adrian, whose face looked pale and weak.

“You don't need to tell me that” His deep voice made my heart seize, my lips paused. His eyes locked onto me. “ You saved me, I would remember that” remember what? Did I do a bad thing saving him? I couldn't process the meaning of his words. Were they good or bad?
