She started to sob, apparently no one knows what is happening and who is she. Three individuals in front of her were unable to say a word, there was a momentarily silence. "Listen kid, I dont know what is your plan breaking into our house, but we're handing you to the police." The father ushered her to step down the stairs and she was finally asked to sit on a couch. They sat across of her, keeping a safe distance and attention to every detail of her movement. Wait She wiped her tears with the end of her long sleeve while trying to reduce her whimpers. She raised her sight at the shelves hung on the wall next to the grandfather clock. There are small to big frames of their family portraits hanging up there. She could not believe her eyes that the many photos of her were non-existent. The only child her parents had is Allen. She looked straight at her supposed to be family. They did not even have an ounce of recognition in their eyes. She is losing her mind, endlessly praying that this dream will end. Bell ring "Oh great, they are here." Her father rushed to the door. Checking the visitors through the monitor before he unlocked the door. "Hello, good morning Sir! Please come inside, that stranger is waiting at the living room." Mr Russel informed the officers in which they nodded in response. Mrs Russel and Allen immediately got up on their feet when the officers entering the house meanwhile I kept my eyes glued to the floor. "Miss, please come with us to Saint Bernard's police station. You may explained yourself and call for you family there." One of the officers with Ian written on his uniform. May slowly raised from her seat, looked at her family in disbelieved and confusion for the last time before she steps forward. She kept her head down knowing she will probably not be coming here again. The officer with beard stretch his hand and open the backseat door. May looked at him for a few seconds before entering. Her mind drawing blank How did this happened, what will be going to happen next? She had her frightened face plastered all over and was deep in thoughts. She did not realized the car has pulled off. May was interrupted when the two officers get off from the car, Officer Ian opened the door for her to get off. She obeyed and walked in between the tall guys. She was seated at a desk with another officer working behind a monitor. "Young lady, good morning. May I know your name?" The voice greeted her. "May. May Russel." She spoke almost with an emotional tone. "How old are you?" He probed again. "18." She said solemnly. "May I see your identification?" He give out his hand waiting for her to submit it. May dejectedly shook her head. "I dont have it." She bit her lower lips, she never came in to a police station before. The officer looked at her. "Then, can you give me your parents contact number? I will give them a call." He picked up a phone receiver and waiting for her to say the numbers. May gave her mother's phone number. The number you have dialled is not in service The man looked at you. "Give me the real number, it is not in service. What are you doing?" She stared in confusion. "But..it is the one." She give another try with her father's phone number but it was the same. Her stricken pale face was in verge of tears. "Look girl, you should make this easy." The officer ordered one of the man to take her to the lock-up. "You will be in there until your parents come or called. Or you can make it easy by giving me their contact numbers. Off you go." He nodded his head in approval to the other officer. She was taken to an empty cell. Sound of the door clicked, the officer left. She turned her head, no one paid attention to her. They were walking here and there and some of them entertained visitors coming. She moved her sight to her surrounding. The cell is quite dusty, moist, cold and bare. She moved to the corner, resting her head on the cold wall. She kept replaying what had happened in this short period. After an hour, May She thought it was all in her head. May May Then it followed with a giggle. She stretched her head, turning around in agitation. May She covered her ears with her palms after hearing that chilling voice again. Her knees stick together as she huddled in fear. Her eyes closed shut, she tried to form words with her trembling lips but failed. "Miss May?" An officer called for her name. He repeated it louder when she did not look at his way. "Miss May." She jolted and opened her eyes. Her eyes darted around her cell before she finally saw the officer standing at the metal bars. "Miss, are you okay? You parents have arrived. Please come with me." He motioned for her to get out once he unlocked the door. Parents? She stared at him, not moving even an inch. He was waiting, she snapped it out when her palm touched the cold floor. She got up, placing her steps carefully towards the exit. She subconsciously followed the man in front of her until they stop at the desk where she was earlier. In front of the desk, a man in his 50s and a little girl around 8 years old had an eerie, crooked smile on their face.
