Chapter 38 ''Do you know my cousin, Enzo?'' Luciana asked. Reed remained quiet as he thought about what she had said. He had a feeling that he had heard that name before but he couldn't quite place where exactly. ''I can't say i haven't heard that name.'' Reed said. Luciana rose up from the bed, butt naked as she made her way towards the table at the corner of her room. ''What a nice butt.'' Reed chuckled. ''Something you'll love to fuck.'' Luciana said. ''Of course, over and over again.'' Reed said, raising it from his seat. He made his way to where Luciana stood, scrolling through her phone to bring out a picture of Enzo only to feel Reed's palms on her butt. ''We just had s*x now Reed. You can't tell me you're hard again.'' Luciana moaned. ''I am. You fail to understand Diabla that anytime i see you, all i want to do to you is to f**k you to stupor. Your body is fire and i'm quite glad it's all mine.'' Reed growled. He slipped a finger into her heart, loving the way her c**t pressed around his fingers. She was turned on by this and within him, he promised to do this regularly. ''Bend over baby, let me f**k your behind.'' Reed growled. Luciana's phone clattered to the ground as she gripped the table for dear life. By now, her legs were already shaking and she knew it would grow worse in the coming minutes. ''Reed…'' Luciana growled. ''I know baby, i know.'' he growled. He added another finger to the first, gently massaging her c**t as he watched her moan. He kissed the base of her neck, inhaling her shampoo that drove him crazy. ''God! Reed, where did you learn to f**k with your hands like that?'' Luciana moaned. She pushed her butt towards his hands just as he added a third finger. Now, she was full, too full to take anymore. ''Dang! Baby girl, you'll be the death of me.'' Reed growled. ''I'm close… i'm close Reed.'' Luciana screamed. Reed covered her mouth quickly. He didn't want any guards rushing in here or worse Alessandro. This was a private moment for them, something they both connected with and he didn't want anyone to ruin it. ''Come for me baby girl.'' Reed ordered. Luciana growled as she orgasmed. She could swear she saw stars as she rode the waves of her pleasure. Reed pulled out his hands but not before giving her c**t another squeeze. He kissed her, pouring all of his love into that kiss. ''I need a bath.'' Luciana giggled, wrapping her hands around his neck. ''And so do i.'' Reed smiled. He carried her bridal-style towards the bathroom, peppering her with small kisses all around her face. ''I promise i won't touch you again when bathing.'' Reed smiled, crossing his fingers. ''I'll hold you on that.'' Luciana said. Soon, they were done and they both dressed up still without Reed touching her. Luciana was quite impressed by that but she kept it to herself. At that moment, Reed's stomach growled in hunger. Luciana burst out laughing as she made her way towards the door of her room. ''Where are you going?'' Reed asked. ''To get some food.'' Luciana simply said. At the door, she beckoned a guard who walked up to her. Throughout this, Luciana positioned herself in such a way that the guard couldn't see inside the room. The last thing she wanted was for them to know that the enemy was within. ''Two plates of spaghetti and meatballs with orange juice and in all you do, keep it discreet.'' Luciana ordered. ''Yes Diabla.'' The guard bowed before making his way towards the kitchen to give the orders to the chefs. Luciana made her way back into the room where Reed was sitting on her bed, scrolling through his phone. ''How's your father?'' Luciana asked. He sighed, placing his phone face down on the bed. When he faced her, Luciana saw a bit of sadness in his eyes as well as a bit of relief. Both emotions were very different from each other which left her feeling confused. ''Baby, what's wrong? Talk to me.'' Luciana said, sitting beside him. Right now, what he needed was comfort and an assurance that everything would be alright. She took his hands in his, giving it a gentle squeeze because that was really what he needed at that moment. ''I don't know if you would understand it of i told you.'' Reed said. ''Just say it as it is. We'll figure it out together.'' Luciana said. ''Okay. Luciana, I love my dad so much. I mean, he raised me and that bond won't go away anytime soon but at the same time, I hate him. I hate him for causing this rift between both groups. I hate him for taking your mother away from you.'' Reed said. Luciana remained quiet as she allowed him to talk about everything he was going through. Funny enough, she perfectly understood how he was feeling. Those were the very emotions she had been feeling even when her father was still alive. It was choking as well as relieving. ''I do not agree with most of his decisions but what can I do? I'm the heir and also a victim of circumstance.'' Reed sighed. ''I understand how you feel baby.'' Luciana said. The present situation they were in wasn't pleasant at all. They were forced to hate each other even when there was no need for them to. ''I don't know what to do. I feel like running away… with you. Can't we do that baby?'' Reed asked. ''No, we can't. We can't run away when there is a current feud between both families. We have to stay and end this feud no matter what. You know, we would be doing our generations yet unborn a great deal of favor if we end this. This has gone on far too long. We have to stop it.'' Luciana said. ''But how baby? How? Just look, your man doesn't want to see me here. If they do, i'm sure you know what that means.'' Reed said. He rose up from the bed as he began pacing the room. He was agitated, that much Luciana could see and it was up to her to calm him down. ''Stop overthinking it Reed, stop.'' Luciana said. ''I can't help it. Look at me Luciana, this is not the life i want.'' Reed shouted. ''You're shouting at me?'' Luciana sighed. That seemed to douse the anger Reed was feeling. He walked towards her, taking her in his arms. Now, he felt like a fool for raising his voice when this should have been a quiet affair. That hurt her but it also put him at risk of also being discovered by the guards. ''Perhaps i'm the fool.'' Reed murmured. ''You are.'' Luciana laughed. Reed couldn't help laughing too because her smile was very infectious. She just had this ability to diffuse a very tense situation which was something not everyone could do. He didn't know how she did it but he was quite glad she could. ''So stop worrying about what should have been and begin living in the present. It would save you a lot of stress.'' Luciana said. ''Thank you. You really don't know what you just did for me. Thank you Diabla.'' Reed said. He placed his lips on her's, giving her a warm kiss. No matter what happened, all he knew was that he would never leave her alone because she was bound to him for life. A knock at the door broke the moment as Luciana rushed towards it to check who was there. She had no doubt that it was the maids with the food. ''Thank you.'' Luciana said, receiving the tray from her. ''I can help you take it in Diabla.'' the maid said. ''Oh no, don't bother about that. I can do that myself.'' Luciana smiled before shutting the door. ''Food.'' Reed grinned. Soon, they got down to eating. The food was very nice to say the least and as they ate, a thought went through both of their minds. ''You-'' they said in unison. ''Go first love.'' Reed smiled. ''Okay. So I don't know if you remember it but the last time you were here and I mean, here in this room, you mentioned something about Alessandro being right about worrying over me. You said it in such a way that i had a feeling you were in his shoes…'' Reed signed yet again. He noticed that it was something he seemed to be doing almost every time. The situation he was in wasn't what he wanted but as Luciana has said, it was up to him to change it and not wallow in self pity. ''I had a sister,'' he said. Luciana's fork clattered to the ground. That was definitely not what she was expecting to hear. The look in his eyes now was one of pain and sadness, something she hadn't seen before. This time around, it was deep and soul crushing. ''What happened?'' Luciana whispered. ''She… she… died.'' Reed croaked. At that moment, Luciana felt weak. It just seemed like she was given a big baggage of things to carry on her shoulder upon hearing what he said. ''Oh my god! I'm so sorry Reed.'' Luciana said. ''It's okay, you don't have to be sorry. It's not your fault.'' Reed sighed. He was fighting back the tears that threatened to fall down his eyes but he could tell that he was losing the battle. He took a small sip of his drink just as the first drop of tears slid down his eyes. Luciana, knowing that they couldn't eat again, cleared the plates as she carried it to the table at the far corner of her room. She cradled his head on her chest, petting him just as more tears streamed down his eyes. She had never seen Reed cry and seeing him now broke her heart into many pieces. ''She was killed in a driveby shooting. Now, do you see why I want to leave this life Luciana. I don't want to continue this way.'' Reed cried. His tears soaked her shirt but at that moment, Luciana didn't care. All she was after was on how best to comfort him. ''She was only fifteen at the time. She was killed, killed without any remorse. They didn't even consider the fact that she was only a child.'' Reed sobbed. ''I'm sorry… i'm so sorry baby.'' Luciana sighed. All of a sudden, Reed sat up, wiping the tears off his eyes. He was done crying and feeling sorry for himself. Now, what he would do was to try everything within his power to stop this war. ''I won't allow this to continue. My plan is to get married to you Luciana and if we decide to have children, I would never allow our kids to grow up in this hostile environment. That is a promise.'' Reed said. Luciana saw anger and resolve in his eyes and she knew then that there was no turning back.
