Chapter 12

Luciana rushed towards where Mateo said he would be. The more she drove faster towards him, the more her heart skipped several beats. There was nothing she could think of that could point out to her what he had to say. The only thing she could think of was the Fontana’s and the lingering fight between them. If Mateo had heard something, Luciana knew that it was the issue of the Fontana’s, she had no doubt about that. ‘’I hope this is good.’’ Luciana murmured. Luciana parked her car on the driveway within the club compound, climbing out immediately. She walked towards the car with a purpose, waving at the people who greeted her. Luciana wasn’t concerned about any of that. Her main concern was to hear what Mateo had for her. She saw him by the edge of the club, walking towards him with a confident stride. As she walked towards him, so many men turned their backs to look at her. They couldn’t quite believe their eyes that they were looking at beauty. ‘’Mateo, what have you got?’’ Luciana asked. ‘’News about the coming ball.’’ Mateo said. Luciana’s heart skipped several beats as she waited patiently for him to say what was on his mind. ‘’The ball is slated for Wednesday evening at six p.m sharp. It's a black tie event so if you want to catch Reed’s attention, you have to be exceptionally beautiful.’’ Mateo said. Luciana knew he was right and she wasn’t planning on slacking. She knew how much her efforts towards attending the ball could go in helping them defeat the Fontana’s. ‘’What do you take me for? I put in my best in all i do.’’ Luciana said. ‘’I’m sorry Diabla, i do not doubt you.’’ Mateo said, bowing his head a bit. He knew how violent Luciana could be and he wasn’t ready to partake of any of that. Her violent nature had reached his ears a long time ago and the Fontana’s even knew better than to mess with someone like her. Luciana Andreas was a well known woman, the best of the best at what she did and Mateo knew he’d be a fool to anger a woman like her. ‘’Good. I’ll go prepare for it.’’ Luciana said, rising to her feet. ‘’I’ll send you the invite on your phone so you can scan and print it out. An invite is very important if you’re to gain access to the party. According to reports, it's going to be a very closed off event.’’ Mateo said. From his words, Luciana could sense some heavy undertones within it. Mateo’s words weren’t only a warning, but it was a plea to her to go on with what they had planned. Luciana wasn’t ready to make any mistake and she knew that she had to go on with everything as planned. ‘’Alright.’’ Luciana said, finally. She rose up on her feet as made her way out of the club and back towards her car. Her job there at the club was done. She had gotten the information she needed from him and now, it was left to her to work on it. Luciana had no doubt that she would do excellently well in it. The drive back to her father’s mansion was relatively slower because it was the rush hour where people were heading back home after a long day at work. Luciana wasn’t bothered about the traffic because now, she wasn’t rushing anywhere and she could actually take her time. ‘’I finally have to take my revenge on you all.’’ Luciana said. As she thought about what to do, her mind flashed back to a scene that had taken place a long time ago. It was a memory she wouldn’t forget in a hurry. That fateful day, her father had gotten back home completely livid. Luciana had never seen him so angry like he was that day before. ‘’Mija, go to your room.’’ he had said that fateful day. Out of fear of what he might do if she dared disobey him, Luciana ran all the way to her room. She didn’t stop until she got in, shutting the door behind her. That particular day, she was so scared of what her father would do that she was practically shaking. ‘’How dare you?!’’ her father screamed. Luciana could vividly remember jumping in fright upon hearing her father’s voice. She knew that the only person he could have been talking to was her mother because there was no one else there. His voice was so loud that she didn’t even have to strain her ears to hear what he said. The loudness went up all the way to her rooms and she could swear that it shook the pillars of the mansion. ‘’What? I don’t understand… what is the matter?’’ her mother said. The fear in her voice was so strong that Lucina had actually shivered when she heard it. It was so full of horror and fear of all the bad things that were still to come. ‘’You would say anything just to defend yourself.’’ her father said which was followed by a slap. It was so loud and she knew that there was really no way a mark wouldn’t have been left. To say she was surprised by this would be an understatement, she was downright shocked. This was the first time her father had ever raised a hand to hit her mother. Her mother cried out in pain, howling loudly. She couldn’t quite understand what was going on which left her all the more confused. ‘’I hear you are the little w***e of the Fontana’s.’’ her father snapped. Even at her age, Luciana knew what a w***e meant from all the naughty books and videos she looked at. What she couldn’t understand was how the Fontana’s got into this. As far as she was concerned, her family hated them with everything they had so this was very surprising to say the least. ‘’What? Talk to me, i don’t understand what you are saying.’’ her mother cried. This was followed by another slap. Her mother crumpled to the ground and Luciana knew she did that because the little items on the table where she had left them came crashing to the ground. ‘’Talk to me please!’’ her mother screamed. Soon, Luciana heard her being dragged away by her father. She listened for a while before she gathered the boldness to open the door. She peeked into the hallway, walking gently towards where she had left them. Upon getting there, her parents weren’t there. The only place she could think of was the dungeon and this left her with immense fear. That memory had been ten years ago but Luciana still remembered it like it happened yesterday. What happened the following days after that event was one of the worst moments of her life. Her mother had a bruised cheek and what’s worse, her father forced her to appear that way whenever they went for social functions, refusing to apply any makeup. Luciana gripped the steering wheel harder, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill down her eyes. It was all their fault. If the Fontana’s hadn’t interfered in their life, none of this would ever have happened. They had caused a rift so strong between their family and she knew that there was no going back. The traffic eased a bit and she moved forward but still, she wished that she wasn’t going back home. That house contained a whole lot of memories she desperately wanted to erase. That was the main reason why she left as soon as she was old enough to live alone. The house contained a lot of sadness, tears and laughter. It was a whirlwind of emotions, all joined together which left her sad and angry. ‘’I will destroy you all even if it is the last thing i do.’’ Luciana vowed. The anger she felt within her at that moment couldn’t be compared to anything else. It was pure and burning deep within her without any resolve. Luciana knew that if she had her way so freely into Fontana's mansion, she would kill him immediately. There was no doubt about it because the hatred she felt for them in that moment couldn’t be compared. Because of them, her mother and her father became enemies. They hardly spoke to each other when the news broke out that her mother was secretly seeing the don, elgado of the Fontana’s. It was a slap to her father’s face, one that she knew he hadn’t seen coming. If he knew about this betrayal, Luciana had no doubt that he could have sent her away. No one, no matter who the person might be embarrassed of her father in such a manner and went away with it. It was all so sad that the betrayal came from her mother, the last person she expected to do that. Nevertheless, Luciana was prepared to take her pound of flesh. They had troubled her family for so long now and she knew she’d be a fool if she didn’t act on it. This was a direct attack to her and the Andreas as a whole and she couldn’t quite wait to get her revenge. ‘’And now that the old man seems to be getting weaker, i will target his most beloved thing, his son.’’ Luciana chuckled. She got to the mansion soon, powering off the car as she made her way towards the main house. She needed to brief Alessandro of what Mateo had told her. The ball was slated for Wednesday and at that moment, Luciana couldn’t wait to begin her revenge.
