I follow the strange woman out to the docks, which are rotted and covered with barnacles. This place has been buzzing with activity ever since I arrived, but now it’s completely deserted. It seems like everyone knew she was coming.
“What is your name anyway?” I ask as I follow her to a boat tied to the end of a dock.
“Calliope,” she says over her shoulder as she bends down to untie the rope securing the boat. She stands up and looks at me with darkened eyes. “If you betray me, little witch, I will hunt you down. You know that, right?”
