Chapter Three

687 Words
It’s Wednesday. A pretty boring day except for the creative lessons. During lunch break I sit with my classmates. With one ear I follow their conversation, but my attention travels to Kann, who is sitting in another group of my classmates. With his back towards me I can only see his hair. When he arrived a few minutes ago, Lily technically flew around his neck. Don’t know what that was about. Do I care? For some reason I do, which is worrisome. Maybe the a thing, but then again, it was a short hug.  “Alright, time to go!” I look at my friend and put my book in my bag. They start walking when I turn around to look back, straight into the most beautiful pair of deep blue eyes.  “Wait… Where did you suddenly come from?” I look at Kann with a smile. So he really just didn’t see me when he arrived. “ I’ve been sitting here the whole time. But you didn’t look around before you sat down.” We talk fastly, since we have to go to our lesson. I really want to ask him for his number, but since Lily is standing with us I refrain myself. The right moment will come, I think to myself. Patience isn’t my strongest point, but since I don’t even know why I’m feeling my heart beat faster everytime I see him, I’ll just go with the flow. We quickly say bye and head to our lesson. After school I’m walking towards the door when I spot Kann on my right.  “Well, well, well. Look who’s here.”  “ Hello to you too. What are you doing here?” “I have a free periode, how about you?”  “I’m done,” I tell him. “but I have to wait for a friend of mine” “Hey guys!” Lina joins us. “What are you doing?” “I’m gonna go to the usual spot, are you coming?” “Sure, I have to wait anyway.” “I’ll come too.” My heart jumps when Kann starts walking next to me.  Once on the square where we usually go, we sit at the high table. I take out the knitting needles we made in class.  Kann jokingly puts them under his arms and starts tapping a rhythm. Then he takes out his phone and starts playing some simple music on a piano app. RIght, he is studying to be a music teacher. We mess around with the app and sing a few songs.  Behind me on the wall is a whiteboard with a two line poem. We add some funny lines to it. Kann is writing but I can do it better, so I take the pen out of his hand. Upon touching I notice how soft his skin is. He playfully shoves me and acts like I hurt him by taking away the pen. I finish writing the poem, and after adding some more art to the board we sit back down. Again I want to ask for his number, but since Lina is still with us, I have to find another way.  Kann is passionately talking about something. I look down at the table and realise his phone is still unlocked. Should I? Courage appears out of nowhere, my heart is beating in my throat. This is my chance. I take his phone. To not raise suspicion, I play a few notes on the piano app that is still open. Swipe, his homescreen is a cute little dragon. I go to his contacts.Quickly I look up but he is still concentrating on his conversation.  Add contact. Saffira. Save. “Right, I have to get to my lesson now, I’m already late.”  I give him his phone. “You have my number, send me a list of reasons why I should join your student club.” The suprise on his face was worth the risk.  Smiling at him I say goodbye. I am leaving with my friend since I have to go view an apartment.
