Alice dumped Muller's box on the writing desk next to the case files provided by Kilbride. She hauled out one of the blue file folders and ran her fingers over the edge of the thick stack of paper within. She heaved out the next one and found a book at the base of the box. A dog-eared copy of Muller's original book, called Homecoming: The Search for a Serial Killer.
After pinning the ex-detective's map on the left of her evidence wall, she turned on her laptop. She clicked on each bookmarked link on the Homecoming Killer and Brooke Tanner's disappearance.
