Dante's POV:
As I left the courthouse, I was already thinking about what gift to bring Evelyn in five days.
The vinyl record she loved had been sold out for months, but the night before, I had told my assistant to track down a copy.
She would be angry.
But she would not really leave.
After her first two divorces, she had easily slipped back into friendship with both men. The third time would be no different.
My car had barely left the courthouse district when the family attorney called.
"A new marriage record connected to the family alliance just showed up in the Crimson Harbor County Clerk's system," he said. "The groom is Adrian Bellini. The bride is listed only by her initials for now. E.M."
I sat up straight.
The divorce decree crumpled in my fist.
