My first instinct was to tell the driver to turn around.
But before I could get out, Marco caught the car door.
"Didn't Evelyn marry twice before to help us out?" he said. "This time, she's only honoring the family agreement."
Luca nodded. "She can divorce him in 90 days. If you go back now, you'll only humiliate both families."
They were right.
Evelyn took her promises seriously, and Adrian was the business rival she despised most. There was no chance she would fall in love with him.
All I had to do was honor the Five-Night Pact, then go home and explain everything.
Evelyn would forgive me.
