Misty took a deep breath. She wanted to know all about this girl Carlos dated. Was she pretty, was she smart? “How did it happen?” Misty pressed on.
Anabel grabbed onto Misty’s arm. “Misty, please leave it alone,” Anabel said seeing Carlos’ uneasiness.
“No, it's fine.” Carlos looked at Anabel. “We were in a terrible car accident and she died, and I died but I woke up in purgatory. Sarah was nowhere to be found, I thought maybe she lived but was told she died and went on without me.” Carlos took a step to continue walking. “Besides she’s watching over us, so I owe her.”
“That’s nice,” Misty said. “Don’t you realize those souls that die just come back as a different person, different life?”
