"This was a mistake." I paced back and forth through the various rooms that made up our suite. The bedrooms were connected through a shared living room, the furniture akin to any upscale hotel. "I shouldn't have come."
Lily watched me from her spot on the couch, sprawled out across the thick cushions. "You were on the list. It would have been impolite to say no."
I rubbed my forehead, the headache about to return.
Lily continued. "Everyone here loves having a King—remember when Theo went outside to the gates? They all support and adore him, no matter what he did in the past." She shook her head. "No way they're going to toss him out with a suitcase and a meal voucher."
