I stared at my image in the mirror, doing a once-over to make sure I was presentable to my guests.
After drying off and taking a hot shower to get the chill out of my bones, I put on a light blue shirt and black tie, the black blazer and slacks acceptable for the reception. William had been waiting for me in the garage upon my return, explaining Josef's decision that he would be better suited to care for Lily and Kat for the time being—letting William fill in yet again, if I approved.
I did. Wholeheartedly.
While I couldn't give Josef the time off to grieve—he wouldn't take it—having him with the two women would be good for him, help him recover. The connection between him and Lily was obvious to anyone who saw it.
