My heart thumped in my chest like a rocket. I was positive Silas' was too. This seemingly heart-to-heart was wretched. My sister slammed in the doors of his office space. Her eyes red as can be, her fists shaking vigorously. "Are you bullshitting me?" She screeched. Her feet slammed on the carpeted flooring as her eyes never left the two of us, our proximity too close to define. But in her eyes, she already knew.
