Chapter 3: I'll see you around

650 Words
I woke up. Today is where my life begins, no schedule, no organization what to do. I won't try to predict my life just like every summer.Just pure go with the flow vibe. I ate breakfast with my sister Harper, it was really unlikely to us eating together, but I'm determined to get out of my comfort zone, so I decided to eat with her. I made iced chocolate instead of iced coffee. After eating. I threw away my to-do list suggestions for summer—all the things that used to keep me updated on what I needed to accomplish. I even rearranged my room. (´ . .̫ . `) While I was feeding Waffles, I noticed he didn’t have any dog food left for later. I went to ask Mom, but she was busy—so I decided to go myself. I visited so many pet store and somehow they're all closed. I forgot that there's a pet friendly fair happening in town right now, maybe shop owners was there. I remembered that there's a 24/7 pet store near Auntie's flower shop. I needed to try my luck. I got there, and it was open. I cheered loudly like a kid when I saw the doors unlocked. I greeted the owner warmly, “It’s so nice that you’re open—otherwise, my dog would be starving later!” She responded, “All the other pet shop owners are at the fair, but we decided not to join this time. We’ve just been so busy.” I smiled and said, “Thanks for your service.” I was feeling extra lively, probably because Waffles had eaten everything earlier—and he’d be starving if he didn’t get more food soon. I pushed my cart to the dog food section and tried to lift a sack of dog food. I tried—but it was too heavy. I was about to ask someone for help when, suddenly, a boy stepped in, grabbed the sack, and placed it in my cart. I turned around and a slow motion happened. He was the cute and handsomest boy. He was the reason why I can't sleep last night. “Thank you so much,” I said, then quickly pushed the cart the other way. Why couldn’t I talk to him? I’d probably sound like a stalker if I asked his name… right? Suddenly, he approached me. “Aren’t you the dog-napper from yesterday?” he teased. “For the last time, he’s my dog, mister,” I replied. “I’m just kidding. How’s your dog? Waffles, right?” Gosh, this boy is really something. He remembered my dog’s name—but not mine. Great. My delulu brain is definitely activating. "He's alright," I murmured. "Good. How about I buy a leash as a sorry gift for calling you a kidnapper, Ms. H.I.?” he said with a playful smile. He remembered my name—and he’s buying a sorry gift. Not for me, but for my baby. I don’t know if I should sulk or be happy. “It’s okay, no need to buy something for Waffles,” I said. “But I want to. Can you please allow me?” he asked, making a cute face that was honestly hard to say no to. "Sure," I said with no choice. While I was paying for the dog food, he suddenly approached me. "Here's the leash, always take care of your dog Miss," he mumbled. I kinda wish he said I needed to take care of myself. "He's my dog after all," I replied. "Thank you, I'll see you around". I proceeded to the door. He offered to help me but Idris, Auntie Izzy's youngest son was there to help me with the heavy sack. We left the pet shop.
