RAELYNN'S POV
The next few days passed in a blur of forced rest and growing unease. Idris was more protective than ever, barely letting me move without his help. Zara was my constant shadow, and even Orion—her usually brooding mate—checked in more than once.
But despite their reassurances, the feeling that something was coming never left me.
It happened on the fourth night.
I jolted awake, a sharp pain ripping through my abdomen. My breath hitched as another wave of pain followed, stronger than the last.

I reached for Idris, gripping his arm as a whimper escaped me. He was awake instantly, his golden eyes filled with concern.
