Alex watched Diane work on Hunter, she knew that when Diane had the bullet out Hunter would start healing, her chance of getting the artifact from Hunter was diminishing by the second. Her only chance to get away from Morgan, get a clean break was to get that and use it to buy her freedom. She knew no matter what Morgan promised her, they would take her back to the big city and into the Gathering, her blood was too rare to just let her walk away. But with the artifact in her pocket, she could negotiate her way out. She couldn't rely on promises Sam made or even Amber.
"Can I help you with something?" Alex asked. She spared Jane and Taylor a glance. They had ignored Amber's order to help Diane and still stood arguing in the corner. Although a bit quieter now.
