CHAPTER 4 I CLAIM YOU

1693 Words
“It's Dhruv Turner!” someone exclaimed. The guests' conversation slowly stopped, everyone holding their breath as they saw the well-built man walk in firmly but calmly. Dhruv's gaze seemed to intimidate anyone who looked at him disrespectfully. A long black coat covered a white shirt with the top two buttons deliberately left open. His hair was slightly graying, but no one could resist his authority. “Isn't it obvious, Viviane? The girl you see before your eyes, doesn't she look enough like me?” Dhruv asked as soon as he arrived on stage. Viviane's body tensed, as did Issera and Lucas's. Their arrogance instantly turned to awkwardness and almost fear. “I ask everyone in this hall, what makes you doubt my daughter other than the slanderous words spoken by this woman?” Dhruv asked loudly. “Daddy, come on, they won't understand the situation,” said Callista. Dhruv sighed, his gaze then shifting to Evander. His silence showed his gratitude for protecting his daughter. “So, Callista is your daughter, Dhruv?” Viviane asked hesitantly. “How can that be? She's just a poor girl, I know her!” Dhruv raised his hand and slapped Viviane hard. “She was born from my first wife's womb, and I raised her with love and affection. Then who are you to say that she is a poor girl?” Dhruv felt humiliated. “Callista, this can't be true. If Dhruv is your father, why didn't you tell us this before?” asked Lucas. “Does it matter to you?” Evander returned the question. “Didn't you once love her without regard to her background? Then why did you abandon her?” “Poor? Didn't you smell the expensive perfume she wears every day? That perfume is traditionally blended and has a fantastic price if sold to the public,” said Evander, remembering the scent of the perfume Callista wore when she came to the bar. “They won't understand, Evander,” said Callista. “They only want a luxurious appearance, not the scent of perfume or a loyal and sincere heart.” Viviane was stunned, still in disbelief, but when she looked longer, Dhruv and Callista's faces were indeed very similar. The mole on the tip of the nose, the sharp, wolf-like eyes, and the golden brown hair. Perfect. It was all enough to make Viviane feel completely defeated. “Callista, have I misunderstood you all this time?” asked Viviane, taking a few steps forward and grasping Callista's palm. “I'm sorry, I didn't expect you to be such a humble girl who never showed off your luxurious side. I may have realized it too late, but now it's too late. Lucas is married to Issera,” said Viviane. “And do you regret marrying your son to another woman?” asked Callista which of course surprised Issera. “What do you mean? I'm pregnant, I'm going to give birth to an Evans child!” Issera exclaimed. “That's not the point. Don't you see the faces of your husband and in-laws, Issera? They regret this marriage, because I should be the one wearing the wedding dress, and they would be part of the Turner family,” said Callista. Issera was furious. If her parents hadn't come up on stage and held her back, she might have attacked Callista right then and there. “Mr. Dhruv, we apologize,” said Issera's father. “Our daughter didn't mean to be disrespectful, she just got carried away.” “It's okay,” said Dhruv. “I don't care about your daughter's relationship with Lucas. I'm actually grateful that Callista is no longer involved with a lowly family like theirs.” “Evander, take my daughter home to the mansion. I'll take care of things here so they know that no one can insult my daughter and humiliate her like they did earlier.” Callista was a little worried about her father, but Dhruv assured her that everything was fine. Finally, she left the wedding party with Evander. In the car, Callista's heart was pounding. She never expected to go through such an eventful day. Her father's sudden arrival was completely unexpected. “And you, why did you tell everyone that I was your fiancée?” Callista asked firmly. “Isn't that interesting?” “What's interesting about it? There's a big age gap between us. Am I supposed to marry a man my father's age?” Evander laughed. “Do I look that old?” Callista was silent. Actually, no, even though Evander was very mature, he still looked handsome and dashing. “I'm 45 years old, while your father is ten years older than me,” said Evander, then pulled Callista's waist closer to him. “You haven't forgotten that we had s*x a week ago, right? We can do it again if you want,” whispered Evander seductively. Callista swallowed hard, unable to control herself. Her lower body felt slightly damp when she heard Evander teasing her with his heavy sighing voice. Especially when the man caressed her body with intense and gentle movements. “You were so beautiful and hot that night. You're right, you can make me fly, and it's hard to forget you.” “Let me go!” Callista pushed Evander's chest, but couldn't break free from his embrace. “That night was just a mistake, so please forget about it.” “It's not that easy, Callista. Your father even trusts me a lot.” “You're so confident, Evander.” “Really? We'll prove it later.” Callista shivered, Evander's words sounding like a challenge she had to face. “Because the Evans family won't just stand by after you humiliated them like that. Their reputation is already ruined in front of the guests, everyone in this country will know what they're really like.” “Have you ever met them before?” Callista asked. Evander smiled crookedly. “You might be surprised if you knew the truth.” They arrived at the mansion, Evander carrying Callista on his shoulders, causing the woman to scream in surprise. The guest room on the first floor was Evander's destination. The man then took off his jacket, loosened his belt, and unbuttoned several buttons on his shirt. “Hey, what are you doing?” Callista squealed as she covered her body with both hands. “Proving whether you will reject me or not,” said Evander, then pulling Callista's legs, his body pinning her down, then kissing her lips without permission. Callista was shocked, she struggled, but it was futile because Evander's body was so big. Evander's kiss was too hasty at first, but slowly became more rhythmic and gentle. He kissed Callista's lips full of love and desire, gathering her hands above her head and locking them. Evander's kisses spread to her cheeks, then turned into licks on her ears and down to Callista's neck, making the woman unable to resist moaning. “Uuhh... Evander, stop.” Callista bit her lip. “Your lips say that, but your body is begging me not to stop.” Evander pulled down Callista's dress, then kissed her chest without stopping. “I told you, you can't resist me, can you? Your body craves my touch,” whispered Evander. Callista was still conscious, so before anything happened, she pushed Evander away hard until he finally moved away from her. “I don’t want my father to see what we’ve done here. You have to respect him, no matter what,” Callista said as she straightened her disheveled clothes. Callista glanced at herself in the mirror before finally leaving the room. Fortunately, the embrace didn’t continue, as Dhruv had just arrived at the mansion. “Daddy...” Callista ran and hugged the man, not having had the chance to do so earlier. Dhruv hugged Callista tightly, kissing her head longingly. “I've been waiting for you for a long time. Where have you been all this time, Callista? Why did you give your life to the Evans family?” “I'm sorry, Daddy,” Callista said, almost crying. “I don’t want to hear your tears. You should thank the mansion’s servants. They reported to me that you had returned. If they hadn’t, I wouldn’t have come to the wedding,” said Dhruv. “You don’t need to worry, Daddy. Evander is with me,” said Callista confidently. “Uh, where is that man?” Evander appeared from the kitchen carrying a glass of water in his hand. As friends and business partners, they were naturally comfortable greeting each other. “Callista, go back to your room. I need to talk to Evander for a moment,” said Dhruv. Callista nodded, leaving her father with Evander, who had been staring at her like a wolf about to pounce on its prey. While Callista was gone, Dhruv invited Evander to talk in a small hall located in the corner of the first floor. Two cups of hot chocolate and muffins without jam were served on the table. They both paused for a moment to enjoy their cigarettes, while occasionally sipping their chocolate drinks. “I know you no longer have any relationship with the Evans family, but coming there and telling everyone that Callista is your future wife... that really made me angry,” said Dhruv. Evander laughed. "I knew you would be angry with me. But let me explain, I did that for a reason. Isn't it better to make our enemies afraid when we join forces?" “One friend is enough to face a thousand enemies. I was just helping Callista deal with Lucas after he hurt her.” Dhruv rubbed his forehead. "But Viviane is your ex-wife. She was furious when she found out you were going to be my son-in-law. She said she wouldn't let that happen. She’ll attack Callista no matter what.” “Dhruv, do you know why Viviane is meddling so much?” “Why?” “She’s the one who killed my wife. She killed her so she could marry me.” Dhruv was stunned.
