LYLA Seeing my parents brought more relief than I'd expected. The moment I stepped out of the car and into my mother's arms, something in me broke. I burst into the kind of tears I hadn't allowed myself to cry in front of anyone. Not Zephyr, or my maids, or even myself. But here, I wasn't Luna. I wasn't someone's wife. I was just their daughter. Their arms were warm and full of love, and the minute they led me inside their home, I felt a sense of safety.
