...You are perfect. The words followed me into sleep, into the land of dreams and they were the first on my mind when I awoke at dusk. I yawned, stretching with a satisfied smile. A dull pain pulled at my groin, my muscles protested as I pushed myself up and my mouth tasted like dirt, but I smiled still. A soft wind rustled the curtains causing a chill in the empty room. I knew when he crawled out of bed. My tired arms had reached for him as he untangled our limbs and my forehead still tingled from the press of his lips. Everything felt – new yet the same. I was the same Missy before the battle but I was not. My emotions were the same but they had never been so overwhelming. I missed my people but now I felt an ache for them. I missed Goldie’s puffy hair, her ridiculous laughte
