Chapter 10“Are you ready to go to your new home today?” Dustin asks a fuzzy orange kitten by the name of Mr. Paws, named for his unusually large paws.
The kitten meows at him and struggles. It clearly doesn’t like being put in the box with his brother, another tomcat named Wiggles. Dustin gets them both in the cat carrier, and picks up the other box that has the two girl kittens in it.
Dustin walks out into the main reception room with the kittens, and Chris is waiting. Dustin had been surprised when Chris had gotten in touch about the kittens. He’d offered to come get the ones for his kids and Harry. Dustin wasn’t going to pass up good homes for his kittens, so he’d agreed, despite his stupid, achy heart.
