Drakania I spent the day enjoying Gideon’s company. He was enjoying showing me the village and walking me through the forest to a meadow covered in wildflowers. It was peaceful, compared to how the morning started. We didn’t discuss what happened. I didn’t think it was necessary, and he probably felt uncomfortable. “Come lay with me,” I said, pulling him into the short grass. “Lay with you?” He asked, his head tilting. We walked to the middle of the meadow and I laid on my back, staring up at the clouds. “I never got to do this at home,” I said, watching the clouds float by. “Why not? You seem to enjoy it,” he sat by me, playing with my hair. I sighed. “I was always busy, studying or teaching or dealing with family, I’ve never really just gotten to be myself.”
