My mind was racing. On the one hand, I was shocked by Newt’s blunt threat to another Alpha. He clearly only viewed Drakania as a superior. On the other hand, I was terrified. I didn’t think about her getting caught. I know she can protect herself, but what if they come for her through Devere or Newt? There is nothing she wouldn’t do for them, including endanger herself. Everyone else must have been as surprised as I was because no one was talking. Not even Thomas, who despite his flaws usually had some way to elevate the mood.
