Nathaniel I hated to admit it, but listening to my rival was more informative than I imagined. Humans fighting with wolves? I’ve never heard of anything like that. Humans usually stick to their own kind. And there was a good reason for that. Humans were by far the weakest of species. Short life spans with even shorter tempers that usually got them into fights that only hastened their inevitable deaths. Even wolves and shifters, who don’t live nearly as long as other superhuman species, live into our late sixties and seventies. Humans were lucky to make it to fifty.
