Alison slowly drifted awake.

Her limbs felt heavy and she had to force her eyelids open in order to ascertain her surroundings.

Her limbs still felt cramped and it took a long time for her to realize she was strapped to a chair with her hands tied tightly to her back in one of the dirtiest places she had ever been.

She tried to move then suddenly noticed a movement to her right which made her turn her head.

The movement brought sharp pains to her neck but it was nothing compared to the shock she got as she recognized the person sitting beside her

"Michelle?" She breathed weakly

"Hi Alison" Michelle purred "how sweet of you to remember me"

"Michelle, what are you doing here?" Alison asked frantically "where am I?"

Dennis

"Well now don't panic" Michelle said in a soothing voice like she was trying to calm a frightened child "I know seeing me would bring back unpleasant memories or...wait, there ought to be two of us. Josh dear, you can come in now"

Alison stared in disbelief as a door opened from nowhere and Josh stepped in smiling at her.

"Y..you..how could you..." Alison swore

"Now let's not be hard on each other" Michelle said, standing up and grabbing Alison's chin roughly "you've lived long enough don't you think? but I won't kill you now"

She turned away and laughed

"I would have killed you long ago if this stupid fool had cut your brakes properly" she said as Alison's mouth fell open in shock and Josh turned bright red in anger

Suddenly she groaned in pain

"Oh are you hurt?" Michelle asked "pity you gave birth to your baby before now. I would have loved to take everything away from you, just as you did to me"

"I never took anything away from you"

A stinging slap landed on her face and left her dazed and gasping

"Yes you did, you liar!" Michelle snarled "all the attention, all the love...it was the same when we were kids even until we grew up"

"Michelle..".

"Shut up.. Just shut up" Michelle screamed "shut up, shut up, shut up!!! I hate you! I hate you so much !"

Suddenly she pulled a gun from her hip and Alison froze in fear

"Shut up" Michelle whispered crazily as she pressed the cold metal to Alison's forehead

"All right, Mitch.." Josh said, calmly "you don't want to kill her now. We have to lure Dennis here and finish them together, remember? now calm down and put the gun down. Yep, here you go sweetheart"

Slowly he took the gun from her hand and led her to the door

There, she stopped and glared at Alison with hate

"I swear to make your last moments as miserable as you made my entire life, Alison Kent"

With that she was gone, leaving Alison shocked, dazed and scared.

Suddenly, she broke into piteous sobbing

Dennis

Oh Dennis, where are you?

"I don't know!" Dennis yelled as they walked to the security room of the hospital. "One minute she was right there and the next she was gone!"

"Calm down man" Matt said "we are going to find her"

"I can't calm down" Dennis said through gritted teeth

He couldn't believe what was happening

He couldn't believe he failed Alison by being so careless

Now she was gone and he had no way to reach her

They almost collided with the PI who was coming out of the security office

"They found the tapes sir" he said as he ushered them into the room "you might want to come in and watch it yourself"

They walked into the security office where several large screen were playing and replaying footages of CCTV of different places in the hospital

Several computer experts and security personnels milked around the room doing one thing or the other, along with detectives from the police station who had been called in to access the situation

"Here sir" the man motioned to a screen where a footage of the parking area was recorded "see if you can recognize these faces"

They waited for the PI to fast forward the recordings till they got the exact time and began watching earnestly

They watched as a man dressed in white coat like a doctor came out of the hospital pushing an unconscious woman in a wheelchair

"Alison" Dennis whispered and Matt held his shoulder

They were still watching when a man came out of the car and helped the fake doctor place the wheelchair into the car

Dennis slammed his fist on a nearby table

"Josh Brandon!"

"I want that licence plate scrutinized" Matt began giving orders as everyone became occupied with their phones and the whole place became a beehive of activities "and the location of that car found. Along with those two losers. We have 24hours, you understand?!"

Dennis was still staring at the screen, red with anger.

"It's OK man" Matt consoled "we'll find her"

After a while

"You are late"

The woman with the gun said Dennis nearly collapsed when he saw Alison.

It took all sheer will power not to rush towards her and get her out of there but if he does that, he would put the life of both him and everyone involved in rescuing Alison in danger.

And Matt would also be disappointed in him because he would ruin their plans.

He forced his attention to the woman with the gun which was still pointed at Alison's head.

He had never seen her before and it was obvious she was a bit crazed.

Something was jammed into his back and he was on his knees before the effect of the stunner could even wear off.

He heard Alison's muffled scream and looked up into the face of Josh Brandon.

Brandon also had a gun and it was pointed at him.

"Nice to see you too" he said, smiling

"Shut up, Josh" Michelle ordered "One more minute and you would have lost your precious Alison, Mr Overton" Michelle continued saying "did you bring the package?"

One more thing Dennis was required to come with was a bag filled with cash, approximately $500,000

"Yes" Dennis replied "and I brought something else"

"What?"she retorted "certainly not help because you would be dead in minutes. Where's the 500 thou?"

"In the car" Dennis smirked "why don't you go get it?"

Mitchell c****d her head and smirked

"That was very stupid and careless of you" Mitchell said "but I want this to last so i won't kill you right away"

She reached below and yanked Alison's rope loose and dragged her up

The latter staggered and Michelle had a hard time keeping her up.

"Why don't Alison and I take a little trip to the car?" she said "you can walk behind us if you care but mind if you have prepared any surprises, I have a few of my own"

Uh-oh

This wasn't what he had planned at all

He should have known better than to expect Michelle to get the money herself

They walked in unison to the car and Dennis was ordered to retrieve the money

On sighting the bag filled with cash, Michelle pushed Alison to the ground and grabbed the bag

She turned the gun on her and made to pull the trigger

"So long, Alison"

"No!" Dennis yelled

Alison knew she would scream if the bullet pierced her skin and closed her eyes tightly.

It all happened in a matter of seconds and when the shot sounded, she waited to feel the pain.

She heard a soft gasp and blood spurted on her body

She heard a soft thud and her eyes opened to see Michelle, standing in shock, a bright red stain on her shirt, which was quickly spreading.

They all turned to look at Josh who was laughing maniacally, with his smoking gun that had just placed a bullet in Michelle's heart.

Alison had had enough and she started screaming as Michelle's body fell on hers

Swift as lightning, Dennis rammed his body into Josh and two of them fell down in a fierce struggle for the gun.

Grunts, punches and sound of fists crunching hard bones echoed in the air and the gun laid out of reach

They both rolled around, each preventing the other from reaching the gun and at last, Josh jabbed both forefingers into Dennis's eyes and grabbed for the gun, swiftly pulling the trigger.

A shot cracked through the air and josh screamed in pain as he held his destroyed hand, which was shattered by a bullet fired by a detective.

The gun fell on the ground and suddenly the place was overrun with police men and detectives, sirens blaring every which way, and police cars and ambulances driving in.

Matt stepped forward and pointed the gun directly at Josh

"You OK, man?" he asked over his shoulder, when he had fully gotten control over Josh who was still writhing in pain

Dennis crawled over to where Alison was and crushed her to his body in relief and happiness

"Its OK, its OK" he whispered continuously and Alison was too weak to even feel relieved

"I knew you would come" she whispered too

"Of course" Dennis replied "I would never forgive myself If anything happens to you"

They watched as Josh was thrown into a police vehicle, despite his shattered hand

Alison couldn't help herself and tears rolled down her face as Michelle's body was bundled into a body bag then lifted into an ambulance, bound for the mortuary.

She suddenly staggered against Dennis and a stretcher was offered to her but she shook her head in refusal and hugged Dennis instead.

"Let's go home"

"Yes,let's go home"
