Chapter Three - Then it is your funeral...

1362 Words
Scarlett The last twenty-four hours have been sort of a blur. It has consisted of them trying to get me to talk, trying to blackmail me into telling them where Caleb was. And every time I refused to answer, which was always I got a slap or a punch. I didn’t care. I have had worse in my life, and they can do whatever they please to me because no matter what, I will not talk. PJ should know that. He is the one that trained me!  My cheek and jaw were pretty sore from all the hits and slaps I have had, but my pain threshold is pretty good because of the life I used to live. PJ has been in and out of the room I am in, checking on me. I think deep down, he still cares for me and doesn’t want me getting hurt too badly. This is something I plan on trying to use for my benefit. The big guys that are part of the gang that Caleb was in are the ones with the heavy fists that keep laying into me when I don’t answer anyone’s questions. I was not backing down to them! And I sure as hell am not showing them any weakness. I swear the moment I am free, I plan on knocking every single one of them out.  I hear someone coming into the room. I didn’t know who because they had blindfolded me again. I realised who it was when a familiar aftershave fills the air. PJ! He removed it from my eyes.  “Such a pretty face, it is a shame what they are doing to it,” he said, “Scarlett, I need you to eat and drink something,” he adds.  I had refused anything since I got here, but I need a drink. He removes the gag from my mouth, also.  “I will take a drink, but no food,” I said firmly, “Why are you letting them do this, PJ? I thought you cared for me?” I added.  “I am doing what is needed, Scarlett,” It is nothing personal,” he adds.  PJ had a bottle of water in his hand as he unscrewed the lid to give me a drink. I listened for the seal cracking, but I heard nothing. “I won’t drink unless it’s a fresh bottle,” I said as I turned my face to the side. “Come on, Scarlett, it was my bottle that I’ve had a wee sip out of.” He said softly. “Not a chance am I touching anything that could have been tampered with,” I said to him whilst shaking my head. “f**k sake, Scarlett, stop being a b***h and take a drink.” He said as he tried to force the water on me. Shaking my head vigorously, I hit the bottle out of his hand, and it fell to the ground and spilt everywhere. He needs to get me a fresh drink now if he wants me to hydrate. “Fine! I will get an unopened bottle,” he snapped, “Scarlett, if you want to get through this, you need to tell them what they want to know,”  “No! I am not giving them what they want!” I said firmly.  “Then it is your funeral,” he said, shaking his head before leaving the room.  I need a way to get out of these damn ties! I need to get out of here and make sure Caleb is OK. I know he will be worried sick about me and blaming himself for all of this. I am determined to get out of this and get back to Caleb. He was the reason I was still fighting. I want us to disappear and start a new life together and leave the past behind us.  After sitting deep in thought for a good ten minutes, the door opened, and PJ came back in carrying a fresh bottle of water. He came right over to me and put the bottle next to my ear as he unscrewed it so I could hear the clicks of the seal breaking. “Is that better for you?” He asked sarcastically. “Yes, much better, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been tampered with, does it?” I replied back to him sarcastically.  “What the f**k do you want me to do here, Scarlett?” He shouted at me. “I would just like you to take a drink first.” I smiled at him. “For you, Scarlett, I will.” He said, then he put the bottle to his lips and took a big drink. “Happy.” He said before bringing the bottle over to my mouth, “Now drink!” I nod, finally taking a drink. I took only small sips, no matter how thirsty I was.  “Thank you,” I said after I was done.  PJ sighed, resting his hand on my cheek, stroking it. I had to fight against my body to stop it from shuddering under his touch. I hate when he touches me.  “Will you please eat something? I don’t want you passing out,” he states.  “I will be fine,” I said, shaking my head.  “Scarlett, things don’t need to be this bad for you,” he said.  “PJ, let’s be honest if I talk or not, they will still hurt me and probably end up killing me once they are done with me,” I said.  I am not stupid! I know how these things work. I am not going down without a fight, and that includes not giving them a damn thing! “Do you honestly think I would let them kill you?” He said smugly. I looked up at him and smiled at him, that's when I saw the look in his eyes change, his eyes got very dark. “You belong to me, Scarlett, so if anyone is going to kill you, it will be me.” He said very chirpily. Not really what I was expecting him to say, but I will keep going with me being friendly towards him in the hope I can get him on my side. “PJ, is there anything else you could use to keep my hands tied up? They are getting pretty sore, probably cutting my wrists.” I said quietly.  “That isn’t up to me, Scarlett, but I will see what I can do,” he smiles, “You know, if you gave me a proper chance, and not only that one night, things would be very different for you right now,”  “Come on, PJ, you and I would never have worked, you know that,” I said.  “Now, you will never know,” he replies.  I wouldn’t be with him if he were the last man on earth, but I don’t think that would be good to say to him. All I wanted was Caleb!  “If they had any damn guts, they would untie me and make this a fair fight,” I said, annoyed.  “That isn’t going to happen,” he chuckles, “Nothing is going to change until they have Caleb,”  “To be honest, PJ, if you are not going to help me in any sort of way, then I would rather you left,” I said as I turned my head away. “Next time I come into this room, Scarlett, I want you to eat!” He growled before leaving the room and slamming the door shut. He can get himself to f**k. I will not be doing anything he asks me to do ever again. I really need to get my hands free somehow. I was prepared for whatever was coming my way for the rest of the day.
