Her Death

My heart began to beat fast as his hands met mine. It was like I was taken over by something else. His soothing voice cooled every part of me but I just refused to be calm. “So, tell me about yourself. What can you do? What are you skilled at?” He questioned. I smiled, looking away from him. I could not dare to look at his face at all. “Well, I….” I was cut short when his soft hands was placed on my chin. He raised my chin up with his hand. “Look at me, I cannot hurt you” He smiled, assuring me. I swallowed the lump of saliva that bad formed in my throat due to nervousness. “As Father already said, I am skilled in archery, sword fighting as well as cooking.” “What are your hobbies? What are your interested? What do you dislike? What scares you? What makes you happy and excited?” He questioned, placing his hand on his chin and starting at me like I was a work of art. He had no idea of what his gaze was doing to me! I tried my possible best to not sound awkward or nervous. “Well, I love reading and singing. I also love carrying put difficult tasks. I am more interested in feeding animals and of course, reading. I dislike lies and distrust. I dislike cheating as well. About being scared, well, I am very scared of roaches, monsters and darkness” “Like this?!” He questioned holding roaches to my face. I almost jumped out of my skin as I screamed and jumped a distance away from him. He began to laugh, seeing me scream. As I stood up and tried to run away, I hit the table and unfortunately, the candles that illuminated the room fell and immediately, the light went off. What was happening? It was not getting funny anymore. I screamed, trying to look for a way to escape. I suddenly felt his grip on my waist, drawing me closer to him. “Shhh, it is fine. You do not need to be scared. I am here with you” He assured me, placing my head in his chest and patting my back while combing my hair with his fingers. That actions of him sent a tingling feeling between my legs. What was happening to me? My heart was about to explode as I inhaled every scent of his. He smelt so good. Just then, a bright lantern was lighted in the room. Immediately, I disengaged from Aziel's grip, adjusting my cloth and clearing my throat. I tried to look away from whom had brought the lantern, Ophelia and Millicent. When I finally managed to look at them, there was a smile on their face. I rolled my eyes. Whatever happened was far from what they had seen but what could I do? “We are very sorry for ruining your lovey dovey moment. We were just concerned when we did not hear a word and the room was overwhelmed with darkness” Ophelia smiled. I was disgusted by the smile as I placed my hand on my shoulder. No, that was not it! ‘We were not having any lovey dovey. He was shielding me from darkness!” I wanted to tell but his voice interrupted me. “It’s fine. We would have a lot of it later on so not doing it just this once does not spoil a thing” I turned to look at Azelia in shock. What just happened? If I had not hit the table by mistake, I would have believed it was all his fault as it looked planned. Perhaps, the moon goddess was favoring him. A smile was plastered on his face as he brushed his hands through his raven black shoulder length hair. I took the opportunity to look at him well. His skin was like melted butter, soft and smooth. He had an athlete shoulder and a broad chest that was inviting. His fingers were beautiful and so were his fingernails that were looking like claws. Just like he knew I was studying his features, he turned to look at me. My eyes met his hazel colored eyes. It was so beautiful, inviting and deep that I feared I could fall into it. I looked away from his eyes quickly, clearing my throat. A wider smile eluded his lips. My cheeks turned red. Did he know I was studying his features? I looked at Ophelia and Millicent. They were giggling just starting at us. I was... embarrassed. “We would leave you too alone so you can have some privacy” They smiled. ‘Don’t go' I wanted to say bit again, he stepped in. “Thank you so much. We would appreciate it” He smiled. The ladies bowed to leave. Just then, we heard Ellington's voice. He was filled with fear and we could tell from his voice “Primrose!” He yelled. Immediately, everyone’s ear heightened. What could have gone wrong with her? The tray with Ophelia fell as she tried to run out. What was wrong with her daughter? Before anyone could say a word, she was already out of the room. We prayed silently for nothing to happen to her. Alpha Azelia held my hand, running outside with me as Millicent had already followed Ophelia. The cold air blew on our skin as we went out. Holding him neutralized the kiss. I gasped in shock when I sighted my niece, Primrose. Her mother held her crying, her father, my brother was also watching in confusion as he had no idea of what to do. She was already turning blue and lifeless. What had happened to her? Just then, Father and mother rushed out as well. Ellington's scream had called everyone attention out. As the dramatic werewolf mother was, she placed her hands on her mouth and began to weep. Ophelia was already in a mess. The last thing she had expected was her daughter’s death. “What happened to her?” Alpha Azelia questioned, studying her closely. “She was suddenly shot with an arrow. I removed the arrow from her body but then I realized it was magick” He exhaled, fear visible all over her face. “Magick?” Ophelia questioned. Everyone diverted their gaze to Primrose but unfortunately, she had already turned white.
