I have never been in heat before. Roman was human, so we never completed the mating, and even if we had, it would have been a 50/50 chance. The she-wolfs heat extends the female cycle once they find their mate. An added opportunity to get pregnant if you want. It can be anywhere from 1-4 days long. Keep the species alive at any cost, even if it means that she-wolfs have to lock themselves away in a secure room for days so that their ripe, fertile smell won't attract every unmated wolf in a 5-mile radius. Sometimes it takes mating before a female goes into heat. Sometimes just the bond forming and getting stronger is enough. Since Roman was human, my heat had not been sat in motion. No full wolf pups possible. At least that was the doctor's explanation when I consulted him about it.
