I slowly opened my eyes, and the first thing I could gazed upon, was a beautiful ceiling endowed with illuminating lights, making it a little difficult for me to focus.
Wait, Are my dead?
I pushed myself up to sit, trying to bear the sudden headache that strucked me, and it dawned on me, I was in a large room. The room was keeping me warmer that It should. But wait, I remembered jumping down from a cliff after been chased by those hunters.
What if the hunters pursued and took me when I became unconscious? What if, they are keeping me here to use me as their s*x slave? I won't allow that to happen, I have gone through alot already to face molestation.
"I see you are awake."
I immediately fixed my gaze on a pale looking, but beautiful lady, dressed in black and was holding a see-through bag that contained some cloths as well.
"Here, put this on. The king will demand your presence any minute from now." Walking towards me, she handed the bag to me.
Addled and still unclear of what was going on, I gently dropped the bag on the bed and stared at her, trying to balance my head.
"Who are you?, and, where is this place? How did I get here? Why are you giving me this cloths?" I wanted to express myself all at once.
"Slow down girl. One question at a time." She expressed.
Slow down girl? If only she knew the amount of tradegy and pain this supposed 'girl' is holding on to.
"My name is Lucky, princess of this kingdom, beta to the alpha, and a model on the outside world." She smiled.
"My brother and I were hunting when we found you. Not knowing who you were, and how you got to the boundary point, he,my brother, decided we bring you here, and interrogate you much later when you are awake." She went further to show me my old wears, which were soaked in blood.
"My brother washed you and changed your cloths immediately we got home. It seems he has a soft spot for strangers, especially when it's a beautiful one." She leaned forward and sniffed me in.
"Wait, did you just say, your brother washed me and, and changed my cloths?" I wanted to be sure of what I heard.
"No worries girl, my brother won't stoop so low to make such acts of which you think. They are many maidens and workers at his beck and call, am sure he only wanted to help." She walked closer to the door.
"Get dressed, the king waits." She added.
Without trying to ask more questions, I quickly put on the dress she had given to me. And she escorted me, leading me to a massive hall filled with golds and everything glittering.
We proceeded forward to the space harboring some aged men which i suppose, could be the king's elder wolves or wise men. As my eyes gazed on the king, I bowed my head, slightly showing some respect. The area was highly guarded with lycans wearing the sacred lycanthrope attire, with spears and swords in possession.
Lucky left me alone, now standing some feets away from me. I gave her an eye contact and she signaled me to kneel, which I did almost immediately, how disgusting.
"I see my children have taken a good care of you." The king spoke, revealing his bold and authoritative voice.
"Yes my king, they have. And for that, I am grateful." I couldn't dare to look up to the king. I had my face buried away from everyone, including lucky.
"Rise." He ordered.
And I stood up to my feet, now I had the courage to gaze at him.
"Tell me." He leaned forward, stroking his white beard.
"Who, are, you?"
His question gave me so many thoughts.
Who am I?
Let's see, a lost noble? or a nobody? A girl who killed her own father and brought pain to her mom? Or a girl who couldn't face the consequences of her own actions? A girl who couldn't protect her own best friend? Or a girl who couldn't bring justice on her killers.
I guess, am all that bad.
There was no way the king and his people would let me live if I told them about my past. Considering the fact, the king might already see me as a good girl, I have to keep it that way, and live for now, until It is time to tell the truth.
"I don't know, your highness." I lied, and i could feel the disgust my reply sent to the crowd.
"What do you mean, young lady?" The king was curious to understand the reason for my reply.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as he stared at me. I clenched my fist and gnashed my teeth as I felt the urge to cry.
"I am a traveller your majesty. Lost my pack and left alone to wander and suffer." I sniffed in a bit.
"While traveling, I stopped at Gwendore to get some food, and werewolf hunters picked my scent and chased me into the woods, and in order to save myself, i jumped down from the cliff and then, I woke up, here." I added some more words to sooth the latter.
I noticed how the king sighed almost immediately, I expected that. I now regret what I have just said, there was no way he would accept a total stranger into the pack. If he did that, he would be risking the lives of his people, but I needed him to accept me, because I had no where else to go.
"There's no way we can keep her here your majesty, she's a total stranger." One of the aged men declared.
"She might be a spy, sent from our enemies to weaken us and then, attack us while our guards are down." Another mentioned while staring at me.
I watched as they all expressed themselves not minding how I felt inside.
"Father if I may." Lucky uttered, and was granted permission to speak.
"Father, I think she is saying the truth. It happens. And when we found her, she was covered in blood. We also found some broken arrows with a smell of blue wolf's bane, good thing we were immune." Lucky said.
Wow, that was impressive, I never thought of that. She thinks so well.
"I must say that this is a very disturbing situation." The king said.
There was a heated discussion among the king and his cabinet. They were speaking in an ancient tongue I couldn't understand, but I stood hoping for the best.
The discussion lasted for some minutes, but soon came to an end and One of the men stood up.
"We are sorry. But you can't stay here, we have to send you back to where you were found, so you can continue your journey." He sat down almost immediately.
I felt a burn in my chest, these people were not wrong after all. I wouldn't accept me neither. I looked at lucky and could see the sad look on her face, I could tell she wanted me to stay, at least, she tried her best.
"I will keep her!" A loud, manly dominating voice exclaimed behind me, causing a massive stare from everyone.
The tension from everybody, the surprise and fear in their eyes, made me realize that the owner of that voice, must be a powerful individual.
As he approached from behind us, I could see everyone trying to sit properly, I could see lucky smiling, and the King fixing his gaze on him. I wanted to look, but I suddenly became scared. I could hear his footsteps, as he approached towards my direction. My heart began beating faster, and I became restless. I was eager to see him, to see his face, the one who wanted to keep me.
Who could It be? I wonder.
