Seraphina froze, her hand suspended midair, unsure of what to do.
The voice coming from inside the room sounded oddly familiar.
She hesitated for a moment before slowly pushing the door open. When she saw who was inside, she was completely stunned.
"Asher?"
Asher, who had been practicing his opening line, snapped his head around in shock. His eyes widened with panic.
When he finally spoke, he immediately regretted it.
"Hey, what a coincidence... you're here, too."
Sitting across from Seraphina, Asher nervously clasped his hands together on his lap.
He was the boss, yet somehow, he was the one who seemed more anxious.
"Um... can I call you Seraphina?"
Seraphina hesitated briefly before nodding politely. "Of course. You're the boss. You can call me whatever you want."
