Chapter Two The combination of intense heat, laughter and Celtic music assaulted her senses as she entered the room. Although the lights weren’t bright, they seemed harsh after the darkness outside. She blinked several times before her eyes adjusted. A large hand pressed against the base of her spine, making her jump. “Whoa there, sugar,” the cowboy whispered in her ear. “Just don’t want the crowd to run you over.” It was a logical explanation, as the pub was packed to capacity, but Kelly could feel the heat even through the layers of her coat and costume.
