Day 122
8:00 a.m.

When we got back to the hospital Ashton and Skye were just getting up and Ashton insisted on us going home. I understand why and I was too exhausted from all the events to argue so we went home. It was a lazy day around the house and now it’s the next day and my alarm is blaring.
I huff as I turn it off and walk towards the kitchen. Skye comes out of her room and honestly looks like a zombie. I ask her, “You okay, kid?”
“Do I have to go to school today?”
She already missed a day yesterday but at the same time if I feel this bad I’m sure she does too.
I sigh as I sit on one of our barstools, “You can miss one more day, but tomorrow you’re going back, okay?”
She nods in understanding and goes to grab some cereal and as she’s pouring it she says, “I was scared
