Parker
I watch as Ashton comes into my room and immediately relief seems to flood through his face. I don’t understand why he’s so worried about me, but it’s sweet. He kisses me and asks, “Do you need anything?”
I shake my head no and watch him settle down beside me. I say hesitantly, “I do have something I would like to talk to you about.”
His face scrunches up as he looks at me skeptically and asks, “What about?”
“Well… Ryan and I got fired today.”
“You what?!”
I nod sadly and explain, “I’m too much of a liability with the Aberrations targeting me. Most of the groups I train are at a beginner or intermediate level and it just risks us losing too many people.”
He looks frustrated, but I can tell he understands the reasoning and he sighs, “I’m sorry, Parker.”
