We both got into the ring and just before we started Kieran told me something, he said,
“This is me and this is training, but I want you to treat me like your enemy. The goal is to destabilize me.”
“Destabilize you? Come on.” I said, smiling as we circled the ring,
Kieran was not smiling anymore,
“I mean it, from this point onwards I am your enemy and you do not want to lose your guard around me or else you are dead.”
I stopped smiling as I watched Kieran get dead serious. He looked scary. The only other time I had seen his face like this was the night he had helped me get out of my blood rage. Today he looked like a handsome and dangerous enemy and that was what I was going to see him as just for the duration of our training session.
