Housemates.

Dawn Daniels Or we could try both? Really? What was I thinking? That sounded very cringe, I was cringing. “You know what? that sounds like a great idea” he said looking at the bottle in his hand and dropping it in front of me on the dining table before whooshing out again. I guess I was only sounding cringe to myself and not to him, that just meant I was overthinking things. He was back before I could overthink anything. “I’m back with the red wine.” He said holding up the bottle of red wine. “we start with the white wine then we can have the red wine after dinner. What do you think?” “I guess it sounds okay,” I replied watching him as he took the bottle of red wine into the kitchen. He then came back out with two wine glasses and then served us dinner. Dinner was very nice, with us talking about several topics. I found out we had similar interests and I enjoyed our dialogues, he has a great sense of humor. May made the most amazing pasta and accompanied by the good company, it all felt very nice. I was having dinner with my housemate. “I wonder why May set this up but whatever her reasons are, I am grateful she thought of it because I am having the most amazing day. My day started nice and now it is ending nice.” I said, sipping white wine. “Cheers to more days like this,” we clinked glasses to that! “I can tell she likes you and wants you to feel at home and knowing May, I think she might also be trying to play matchmaker.” “really?” I said, then mentally facepalming myself when I looked around and noticed all the signs. Of course, she was playing matchmaker, I mean she left us together, along with nicely made food, low lights, and a dining arrangement that said “romantic party for two” “Yes, really.” Kieran confirmed, “But it is nice, to see you ease up, to get to know you. It’s very nice.” “I feel the same, it is nice and also very important to get to know my housemate.” I paused as the lady called Cara came to my mind, my wolf growled and I could sense the aggression she felt towards her. She did not like her. “Hera doesn’t like Cara, she made it very obvious. And when I mentioned her name I could sense a change in your mood, is there something I need to know?” “There’s a lot you need to know actually. Since we are housemates, it is important you know Cara and the kind of person she is.” Then he paused and looked at me with his beautiful blue eyes and added, “even though, I am surprised Hera did not give you the gist.” “she did, I just wanted to hear it from the wolf’s mouth.” Kieran chuckled “Of course you did.” then getting up from the chair and placing his wine glass on the table, he walked around to my side of the table and offered me his hand, “Let me take you to the favorite location, the quality of conversations are better there.” Smiling up at him, I stood up from my chair and placed my hand in his, my wolf was purring and letting me know the satisfaction she was feeling, being this close to Kieran. Kieran led us out of the dining through an archway which led us out of the building, I just followed him still holding his hand. I liked holding his hand it felt secure and nice. I turned to look at him properly, he had a sleeveless black T-shirt on with slacks and custom-made slides, he looked like one of those male models in magazines that I had crushes on. We kept walking and that was when I realized how big the compound is, I had only been in the house -and just 3 spaces even- and the entrance area and then the garage. We walked to the back and walked across a small plain field and got to a small lighthouse which was situated by the lake, it looked like something from a fairy tale. I understood the appeal, it was high, it had an amazing view and the air was clean here, there was no noise just natural sound. “This isn’t even it, there’s more,” Kieran said as he led me to the back of the lighthouse, there was a glass structured greenhouse and it was the real fairy tale. “Are you kidding me?” I said as walked through the beautifully patterned glass doors, it is a plant space with large windows, indoor potted plants, and hanging plants. I start walking around, admiring the plants. “you can sit anywhere, just make yourself comfortable.” “I love this room so much.” “Me too,” he said then he looked around and added, “Forgot to come along with the red wine, I should go get it.” “Okay,” I said still admiring the plants and the interior of the glass house. “Are you still interested in it? There’s water and fresh juice in the fridge here.” “I would like to try the red wine please, I have been looking forward to it all night.” He laughed out loud this time, “I don’t know if you are very funny but you make me laugh a lot, we are going to be very good housemates. I’ll be back in a minute.” “Take your time,” I said sitting on a couch that was placed close to the open window. “I am enjoying myself." He was back before I even noticed anything, this was probably just a pinch of the power he had. He is the alpha of the Rogue Lands, this must be such a flex and also so much responsibility and to have taken on this responsibility at a young age. He handed me a wine glass and I watched him pour me red wine, then laying my back on the couch I took a sip of the wine and asked, “How do you handle a whole pack? In this short time that I have known you, I have come to see the respect your people have for you. Not fear but respect. How do you make that happen?”
