Lucan leaned on the edge of the balcony, his eyes watching as the sun set slowly in the horizon. His mind was occupied, and his heart even more so. All of the times that he had gone to war, he had no one and nothing to protect. He only wanted victory for his people and even though they were his responsibility, the violent meed to keep Adeline unscathed was unmatched. He had never felt this way before, and now that war had come to stain it, he was not too sure what to do. He held his breath, his chest heaving hard. It was slowly getting dark, and he turned away, his eyes closed. Should he send her back? Maybe if she was away... He shook his head. He could not bring himself to think about it, and it already hurt too much. Maybe it was for the best that she could remwmber nothing he said
