COLEEN HASINE'S POV
Die, you cheater! Die!
I felt a sudden cold of the surroundings and just for a second it went away.
But, that voice, I think I heard it somewhere. My eyes opened wide in shock, seeing nobody was outside the second floor, only me.
Maybe there's something in my ear, right now.
I fixed my eyes on someone going up the stairs, it was Mommy, carrying a food tray.
"Are you okay, dear? You seem bothered today?"
"I'm fine, it's just I am busy from work. Y-you know, reports and stuff." My voice cracked and now ny hands trembling. What a perfect timing to be afraid!
"Oh, Mommy, is this for me? You shouldn't have bought this and deliver this to me, I mean I can handle myself, you should have called me." I said and smiled, looking at her face.
"It will only bother you, besides, both of you just stayed here for summer, but didn't stop work though."
Oh crap, yeah, she's right. I went from hell yet I can't even get out of there, just a single missed report I'll be on the very beginning of my journey again. That company sucks, my dad even said that I should not be there and deserved to be somewhere more nicer job for me, since I finished college and had a very good record.
But, I know that this is part of the journey, so I declined. Kyle even told me that my dad's opinion is the best, especially the current situation of my eyes getting more blurry because of over use of laptop and phone.
I know this is the right thing, it is what they say, follow your heart.
"Eat your meals and just leave it to your rooms, I'll just take it by the morning. Goodnight, dear." Mommy smiled, then waved a goodbye.
I also waved a goodbye and smiled then closed my door.
I placed the tray beside my laptop, took a sip from the glass of orange juice then threw myself to the warm, soft bed.
My phone suddenly received messages and notifications, so I made myself busy replying and viewing everything.
I wanted to avoid eating more food in a day, especially with high chance of me getting bloated.
But damn, those kimchi smelled great. I might forget my diet is on the run.
Okay, fine, it is not a sin if I eat 3 times a day with extra food on my plate for 2 months, right?
I mean, I'll just cherish everything when I am still here, just enjoying half of my time free and half of it from hell.
My body didn't even had a second thought of standing up and suddenly went to the table.
My hands took the big piece of crunchy fried chicken on the plate, and damn I felt so good. The crunch, the overall taste, it really feels me good.
I took the big piece of chicken skin, my favourite part of all. I could even remember how Kyle gave me all his chicken skin just for me to cheer up when I failed my project.
He really is the life saviour when I met him, he cheered me up, he was there when I was in stage of happiness but he was also there when I was in the middle of vain and despair.
How much he cared for me, let me copy his notes and everything, lend me his time just to make sure I am fine.
I don't know how you liked me, Kyle Jimenez, I don't know why you have fallen in love with someone who came from hell, which you believed I came from heaven.
You have done so much for me, you were just like my dad but you are so different. Sorry for everything, Kyle. Sorry for not being there when you needed me. Sorry for breaking promises I made.
I hope you'll wake up from the truth, Kyle.
A tear flowed from my cheek, suddenly a few knocks on my door was heard.
Wiped my tear, then stood up and opened the door. It was Kyle, with his food tray.
His eyes were red and in despair, his face was not in mood, but he smiled. Oh gosh, he freaking smiled even though I know he's hurt. He knew to himself, he is not strong and all, but he kept smiling for everything and to everyone.
I let him in then sat on my bed,"Hey, what's with your face? You okay?" I asked.
He placed his tray beside mine, then looked at me.
Kyle, like he always do, sit beside me then take my hand. He always liked my hands so he always, saying it was so soft like a stress ball.
Yeah, he is doing it if he is stress or comforting me.
"To begin with, I am fine. I just miss you a lot. I missed how we talked just like before, just like we were always together." He gently massaged my hands and took a deep breath. "I missed everything we did like before, Coleen. The times when we were still studying and just chilling out after exams."
"Of course, I missed you too. It was just work had been testing out on how our relationship would end, yet here we are still together for years." I whispered, messing his hair a little like a dog needed to be loved by his owner.
We hugged, he was so warm, so true. Why am I so mean to you, why are you so true towards me? Why can't I even give you the things you deserve?
He embraced tightly, I could clearly hear his breathing, so fast yet wonderful to me.
I let go out of his embrace, and went to my table then ate my food.
"You remembered your mom again, huh?" I said, breaking the silence.
He nodded and looked at me, his face saying he wanted to cry but he doesn't want me to see him in despair.
"I also miss my mom you know, but she isn't dead, just living with her very own other family. Roaming around happily with his third party and my half siblings." I blurted, almost in tears.
He took his tray and I saw in the corner of my eye, on how he peeled off the chicken skin.
"Here, I know you wanted it." Kyle handed the skin to me, which was the reason I smiled in joy.
He never forgets, never will.
He moved to his plate of kimchi, a half eaten kimchi.
"Hey, Kyle, uhm yeah, so what's our plan this 2 months away from the city?"
Kyle took a spoonful of kimchi, enough to occupy his whole mouth. His cheeks bloated with red sauce in his lips.
He paused and chew for a few seconds, then he took a big gulp. "Yeah, I've thought about it. I think we should watch movies in your laptop now, don't you think? Then let's clean tomorrow." He said and putted his hands on my laptop.
Before he could open my laptop, I took it and suddenly he was surprised.
"Ah, you are out of battery, huh? I will just take my laptop, besides I just saved a movie there." He stood up and walked out of the door, leaving me alone.
What are you even doing back there, Coleen? He might suspect you something!
Why did I even take it anyway, I don't have something to hide.
Liar!
What was that sound? I am the only one left here yet I heard something whispering again. The same voice like before, but it sounded in rage.
I felt fear again, my soul almost wanted to leave my body right now.
The door opened, Kyle with his laptop. Oh gosh, thank god you came fast.
"So, I'll just set up my laptop then finish your food." Sitting on my bed he said, then slowly opened his screen.
It was me on a bench, the first date we did. "Hey, you actually took a picture of me that day? How could you even not tell me that until today?"
"You were so pretty from afar, I couldn't take it so I took one before calling you." He replied.
You are so sweet Kyle. Too sweet.
I finished my food and so he did, we putted it in order. I drank all the juice left in my glass and placed it in the table.
"Want cuddles? I am free today." Kyle offered, moving on the other side of the bed, offering the other to me.
I didn't refuse, I placed my head on his chest, warm like pillow yet hard like a rock.
We watched the movie with our eyes on the screen and our bodies attached.
I hope it will never end. I really hope.

"Where the hell is that book?" She whispered while throwing old books to the floor like crazy.
The books being thrown released thick dirt and a very strong odor, which she didn't care.
But, after a few minutes of doing the same thing, she stared at the old book and finally she stopped.
Mommy went to her desk, sat to her chair and blew away the dirt surrounding the book.
This is it, the one I've been looking for all these years she said in her mind.
She carefully turned the pages slowly with care, reading the cursive words in fast motion.
"This is the truth, the key to the end!" She exclaimed in happiness, then continued reading.
Mommy didn't want to be caught and wanted to know the truth and the key to the end. She didn't want to be stopped again.
No, she won't let it stop her from the truth again.
The more she turned the pages, the more intense she felt. But a page caught her attention, the one she really looking for.
Her heartbeat began to beat more faster, rapidly breathing from what she read.
"Diary of Serena." She murmured, but before she can turn the page, a very strong air circulated the room.
The books on the floor started to turn pages, some even torned itself as the air got stronger making it fly.
Oh no, she's here! She already knew!
She was waiting for the moment the woman show herself once again, the heartless soul that kept her alive and kept her a prisoner.
The air started to slow down, but her fear didn't disappear from her, it even got more intense and high than before.
The pages in the old books scattered around, dirt and the odor circulated the room.
Her eyes looked around yet saw nothing, suddenly a hand reached out on her left shoulder, the hand she hated.
She looked at it slowly, her heartbeat almost beated and her heart wanted to escape her body.
"So, you found what I needed? That's a good girl." The creepy voice of a woman whispered to her, soft yet scary voice.
No, I wanted to know everything before she could! I am not your dog anymore!
Mommy tried taking the book and planning to run out of the room, then give Kyle the book and speak about the truth.
But, she failed. The woman knew what she was going to do, so she let her sleep.
No, no, no! I wanted to go to Kyle and tell them everything! Why can't I save the ones who are valuable to me!
Her eyes started to close little by little while looking at the door, seeing Heather and Paul crying.
"Sorry for failing, oh god, please help them! Let them know the truth!" She murmured while a hand took the book from her.
Then her eyes saw nothing but darkness.
The woman on her back patted her head and took the book, she looked at the old woman once again.
"You wanted them to know the truth? Then, let me do it on your behalf. It would be an honor to meet your pretty grandson that I adore!" She laughed like a witch and disappeared out of nowhere.
She locked the poor old woman inside the secret room, not letting her out forever.
