Broken No More

The next morning, Aria woke up before dawn. Lucien’s words echoed in her mind. Her body still buzzed from the dream. And the pendant on her neck? It was warm against her skin. She got up, tied her hair into a bun, and made her way to the training grounds. If Kael didn’t want her in the pack, so be it. But she would leave stronger than ever. “You don’t belong here,” one of the warriors muttered. “Then don’t watch,” Aria replied coolly. She trained like her life depended on it. Punches. Kicks. Dodges. She fell, bled, and stood again. She didn’t stop. And as the sun rose, a quiet crowd gathered. Watching. Whispering. Even Kael. Something had changed in her, and everyone could feel it. “Who trained her?” one asked. “She moves like she’s... possessed.” Kael’s eyes narrowed. No, he thought. Like she’s becoming who she was meant to be. Later, Aria found a letter tucked into her locker. It had no name, just one line: “Come to the river at midnight. The truth awaits.” She didn’t know who sent it, but she’d be there. Because the time for fear was over.
