Why had she said that? Akina hadn’t meant to say what she had said but that didn’t change the fact that she still said it.
After Akina had said she didn’t know what Kyle was to her, there had been an awkward silence that had fallen over them. Kyle hadn’t asked anything more and had pretended to be busy with his Math textbook.
They spent the rest of the remaining time going over Kyle’s Math work until the bell rang signalling the start of the school day. Kyle packed up his books and slung his bag over his shoulder.
