Chapter 14

The entire night Kyle kept tossing and turning, he couldn’t sleep. His mind was filled with thoughts of how Akina’s lips would have felt pressed against his. But now he would never know because he had seriously royally up…. again. It seemed like he was messing up a lot and he didn’t know how he was going to fix any of it. “Hey,” he said as he found Akina waiting for him on her front porch with her phone in hand. “Looks like someone is now obsessed with her phone,” he mused. Akina stood up and walked over to him. She stuffed her phone in a pocket of her school bag. “What can I say, Candy Crush is really an addictive game.” “And here I thought you were secretly stalking me on social media,” Kyle replied as he unlocked his car and they both got in. Akina’s ears turned a shade of red as she looked at him and then quickly looked away. “No way, you did stalk me,” he exclaimed incredulously. “Did you finally decide to become a civilised teenager and get yourself a social media account? Or did you just search me?” he asked amused as he sped out of their street. “Because that would be weird and kinda creepy.” “Shut up,” Akina said as she got her phone and rolled it in her hands. “You did search me. This day is turning out to be way better than I thought it would be.” He had figured the day wouldn’t be as wonderful as their previous days together had been but this was just making him happy. Kyle still had 25 days left and he was slowly beginning to see her change and accept life. That was all that he wanted. She was smiling more and more each day which was bonus as it made her look twice as beautiful. Wait, what? “I did not search you, I was playing a game,” she tried to defend herself but Kyle could see right through it. “Whatever you say babe.” “Don’t call me that.” “Call you what?” “Babe.” “Why not?” “Because.” “Because what?” Akina huffed exasperatedly as her cheeks burned, “just because okay.” That made Kyle laugh. “Relax, I’m just joking,” he finally admitted, “or maybe I’m not.” Akina hit his arm which only made him laugh even harder. “Hey, no hitting the driver,” he said in between laughs which earned him another hit to the arm. “Geez, stop hitting the driver.” “Whatever, just drop me off here.” “Why would I do such a weird thing?” “Because if Mr. Briggs sees you on school grounds then he can and will extend your suspension,” she replied as she took her bag. Kyle slowed down and parked at a curb before he turned to look at her. “What? He can’t do that?” “Actually he can,” she replied. “Didn’t you read the student handbook?” Kyle rubbed the back of his neck, “yeah I threw it away. I figured it was useless and just a waste of my time.” Akina got out of the car and stared at him incredulously. “Well now you know,” she said as she closed the door and began walking the short distance to their high school. Kyle sat there watching her walk away from him. He couldn’t help the unconscious smile that appeared on his face. He was learning about her every day. He started the ignition and sped away not knowing what he was going to with his day. He drove around for thirty minutes before he pulled over by the side of the road and rummaged around in his clove compartment where he retrieved the paper that Keira had given him. Kyle thought it over, did he really want to call her? Was it really worth it? Throwing all caution to the wind, he entered the number and dialed her. Keira picked up on the fourth ring. “Who is this?” she asked groggily. Kyle took a breather before he answered. “It’s Kyle,” he said and then added, “we met yesterday at the mall.” There was a silence from the other end and Kyle nearly cursed himself for calling her. Obviously she didn’t mean it when she told him to call her. He was slowly losing his game and he couldn’t have it. Never had Kyle being nervous about talking to a girl and having a casual hook-up. “Yeah I remember you,” Keira finally said after what felt like a long agonising while. “What do you want?” “Do you want to hang out?” he asked. “I’m home, I’ll text you my address.” Keira hang up and moments later, Kyle got a text and he started up the car. It was going to be a fun day. It didn’t long for Kyle to get to the address that Keira had sent him. It was in the bad part of town but he didn’t care about where she lived as long as he had fun. He checked the address once more before he knocked on the door. The door immediately swung open and Keira pulled him to her. Her lips were as soft as they had been the day before. “Someone is in a hurry to get me naked and in their bed,” Kyle joked as he pulled away from her long enough to shut the door. “Shut up,” she said as she slammed her lips back on his and kissed him, hard. Kyle ran his hands through her dark hair and pulled her even close as he gently bit on her bottom lip asking for permission. Keira didn’t hesitate and immediately opened her mouth and their tongues fought for dominance. Keira’s hands roamed all over his body as they continued making out in her living room. “C’mon,” she pulled away and took his hand in hers with a seductive smile as she led him to what he figured was her room. She pushed open a door and immediately her lips were back on his. Kyle was enjoying each minute of their lips touching. This was what he had been missing trying to get Mariah to go out with him. It wasn’t like she was even that hot, she just had a really nice arse now that Kyle actually thought about it, but he pushed that thought out of his head. He wasn’t meant to be thinking about the girl that made a fool out of him when he was about to have the best s*x of his life. He pulled away long enough to remove her shirt over her head. Keira was now only in a black lacy bra and black booty shorts. Kyle stood back to admire how hot and sexy her body was as he slowly licked his lips and he racked her up and down. “What are you waiting for?” she asked as she bit her bottom lip seductively and twirled her dark locks. “I’ve been waiting for you to call and I need you just as much as I know you need me.” That elicited a laugh from Kyle. “Relax babe, we’ll get to that,’ he said as he moved closer to her and pushed her onto her bed. Keira moved further back on the bed and Kyle moved in between her thighs. He kissed her thighs and she moaned. He raised his head and smirked at her reaction, he trailed open mouth kisses on her thighs as he slowly made his way up to her lips where she gladly opened her mouth and their tongues danced. Her hands roamed all over his back. “Take off your shirt,” she said in between kisses. Kyle chuckled but obliged. He took his shirt off and threw it on the floor. He went back to kissing her as she roamed her hands over every curve and dip. Pulling back from her, Kyle looked at her and admired how hot she was. “Don’t keep a girl waiting,” she said as she fumbled with his belt while simultaneously undoing her shorts. “It’s rude, didn’t your mum ever tell you that?” Kyle was amused as he watched pull his belt and toss it on the floor where most of their clothes were already piled up. She arched her hips up and removed her shorts only leaving her in her lacy black panties. “Darn, you’re hot." “Less talking and more making out and s*x,” she said. “Your wish is my command; after all, I aim to please all my ladies.” He smashed his lips on hers as he un-clipped her bra and tossed it on the growing pile of clothes.                                                                          ******************** “That was wild,” Kyle commented as he threw on his shirt and grabbed his pants from the floor. “Yeah, that was something all right,” Keira commented as she stood from the bed exposing her naked self to him again. Kyle’s eyes roamed over her from head to toe. “Put on some clothes before I take you again.” “Maybe that’s exactly what I want,” she said as she slowly bent down to retrieve her bra. “Just saying, I wouldn’t mind doing that again.” “Don’t tempt me,” he said. “Why not? Ain’t I worth it?” Sighing, Kyle sat back on the bed staring at her as she put on her bra and then underwear. “As much fun as that was, I can’t. I have something I need to do.” “Your loss.” And it was a loss, he enjoyed every second he was with her and how she responded to his every touch. It felt refreshing to be with someone who was unconventional, someone who knew just how to tease him the right way. “Maybe next time.” “You know where I live,” she said with a wink as she left the room in nothing but her underwear. She returned minutes later with a pack of popcorn. “Well looks like I won’t be meeting the girls after all.” “Why is that?” “Because,” she began as she threw the popcorn on the bed and stood in between his legs. “I’d rather do this.” She bent over and gave him a small kiss. Kyle’s hands instantly flew to her hair to deepen the kiss but she stepped back laughing. “I thought you said you can’t stay,” she said with an amused smirk. “You’re such a tease,” Kyle replied as he stood up. “A girl has to go for what she wants.” “I like a girl who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and go for what she wants.” Keira picked the pack of popcorn and plopped on her bed still barely dressed. She was a temptation that Kyle didn’t mind falling for. But he had to pick up Akina, damn he had almost forgotten all about her. “f**k, I have to go. I’ll see you around,” he said as he walked out of her room. “Yeah whatever,” he heard Keira say as he shut the front door and walked over to his car.                                                                      ***************** After his little rendezvous, Kyle decided to hit the park where he just sat and scrolled through his phone as he waited for school to be over. He scrolled through his social media feed before he got bored and decided to search for Keira. It wasn’t that hard to find her. She was basically a social butterfly. Most of her pictures consisted of her making weird faces at the camera with who Kyle figured were her friends. It was weird, him searching a girl online. It wasn’t like he now liked her after they had s*x, no. Sure she was great and all but he wasn’t looking for a relationship especially after what had happened with Mariah. Sighing, he logged off and did the one thing that he should have done a long time; called Jackson. The phone rang and rang and Kyle was beginning to think that Jackson wasn’t going to pick up but then he picked up on the fifth ring. “What do you want?” was the first thing that Jackson said. Not even a hello, how are you. “I wanted to check up on you, that’s all.” “Well now you’ve checked up on me. Is that all?” “Look,” Kyle began, “I really don’t want us to fight and I’m sorry for what happened. Can we just please move on from it?” There was a silence from the other end and Kyle almost thought that Jackson had hang up on him. “Fine, I guess I shouldn’t have said what I did about her and I guess I’m sorry too,” Jackson finally said. Kyle released a sigh of relief at that, “cool. What are you doing now?” “I’m bored to hell being stuck at home with nothing to do,” Jackson replied with a sigh. “Do you want to come over?” “Sure, I’ll be there in ten. Just make sure you have enough food for the both of us.” Jackson laughed at that, “I got you dude, don’t sweat.” “I’ll hold you to that.” Kyle hang up and stuffed his phone in his back pocket as he made his way to his car and got in. He started the ignition and sped over to Jackson’s house. The entire time he was driving, he kept thinking of what he would be doing with Akina for the day. It turns out planning something fun each day wasn’t as easy as he had initially thought when he had asked for the 30 days filled with fun and life. When he got to Jackson’s house, he got out and walked to the door. It was one less thing that was weighing on his mind. Before Kyle could even knock, the door swung open to reveal none other than Jackson. He was dressed in grey sweats and his brown hair was swept to one side of his head. “Took you long enough,” he commented as he swung the door wider for Kyle to enter. Kyle rolled his eyes as he walked to the living room, “I said ten.” “Yeah but it’s well past ten minutes now,” Jackson huffed as he plopped down on the sofa and popped his legs on the table. “I almost thought you were going to blow me off to hang out with Akina or something.” The earned him a sharp look from Kyle who sat down next to him on the sofa. Jackson raised his hands in surrender. “I was just saying, no need to get defensive,” he said, “I learnt my lesson about messing with her and I don’t need another one,” he smiled and Kyle noticed that his left eye was still a bit purple and there was a bandage on his nose. “Darn dude, you look bad.” “No shite Sherlock. You practically broke my nose and I had to get twelve freaking stitches.” Kyle smiled sheepishly, “I’m sorry about that.” “Water under the bridge. You live and you learn,” Jackson replied with a half shrug. They started talking and it was like they had never even fought in the first place. Their conversation flowed effortlessly. “I’ve been meaning to ask,” Jack began as he took a handful of popcorn and stuffed it in his mouth. “How is she holding up after what happened Friday?” Kyle tensed, it was something he truly wished he could forget, but the memory was still fresh in his mind’s eye. “She doesn’t remember anything that happened,” he answered as he ran a hand through his hair tousling it. “I guess that’s a good thing. But I still remember it and man it sucks.” “It gets hard before it gets better,” Jackson responded. “You just have to give it some time and you’ll begin to forget what that creep almost did to her.” “I hope so because she’s asking questions and I don’t think I can bring myself to tell that she almost got r***d when I promised her I wouldn’t leave her alone.” Jackson paused long enough to stare at him before he went back to looking at the TV. “What do you mean by that?” “The only reason she agreed to go in the first place was because I told her I wouldn’t leave her side and I failed at even doing that. I screwed up and I can’t look at her father without feeling awfully guilt about the whole thing.” “Wait, hold up but what? Since when do you know her dad?” Jackson asked as he fully turned his attention to him. “Explain yourself Thornton.” Kyle sighed, this wasn’t how he expected things to go but he was now glad he had his best friend back and he could talk about such things with. “She’s my next door neighbour. So yeah I know her dad,” he said in form of a response. “Then how come we have never seen her around? Besides, I thought Shawn lived alone.” “Yeah apparently that daughter he always talked about was her,” Kyle replied, “turns out she used to live with her mum before she finally moved in with him.” “Okay I need you to be completely and utterly honest with me right now Kyle,” Jackson said with a serious expression. He was looking at Kyle intensely that Kyle had to look away. “You do like her? And don’t bullshite me on this because you know I’ll know if you’re lying.” Did he like Akina? Yeah, I mean he liked spending time with her and he almost kissed her, but did he like her like that? He wasn’t exactly sure on how to answer that question. “Of course I like her, but not in that way,” he finally said. Jackson gave a disbelieving look as he scoffed and folded his hands on his chest. “Uh-huh, sure whatever you say.” “Oh come on, I’m being serious,” Kyle defended himself. “If I liked her that much then why would I have hooked up with someone just a few hours ago?” “Did you now?” Jack asked with a smirk. “Because I find it hard to believe you actually hooked up with someone.” Kyle gave him a sly smirk as he grabbed some popcorn and turned to the TV. “No way, you are just trying to evade my question about liking Akina.” “Guess we’ll both never know.” Jackson huffed then rolled his eyes, “whatever dude. You’ll tell me eventually and then I’ll tell you I told you so.”
